It's more common with progressive or technical music because this song has complex structure, some mixed elements of the other genres, experimental sound and uneven rhythms. That's why the pure death metal is too boring for me. It's getting boring when I listen to music and I know the structure like:

interlude
refrain
interlude
refrain
solo
refrain (with transposition)

I can forehear the next riff, the next sound and the next rhyme. The 90% of new music is not about new. It's about some variations over some old and forgotten themes.
