I'm trying to run a Linux v1.61 server with 128 slots. I replaced server files with these http://team-simple.org/download/bf1942_ … hed.tar.gz and BFSM files with these http://team-simple.org/download/bfserve … hed.tar.gz and set full access rights. Then I set game.serverMaxPlayers 128 in both serversettings.con and servermanager.con files.
But when I start the server, game.serverMaxPlayers turns into 32 immediately in serversettings.con and server runs 32 players.
bfsmd.log says: "Invalid value of 128 detected for setting game.serverMaxPlayers, using default 32."
What am I doing wrong? Help a noob please ;(
P.S. I wanted to start the server accepting both 1.61 and 1.612 versions, but I it'll be better to solve this first.
It should work. Are you sure you overwrote bf1942_lnxded.static and bf1942_lnxded.dynamic with the patched ones? It seems that the error is because you did not run the 128 players server patched executable files.
You can change to 128 players with BFRemoteManager201-patched.zip or BFRemoteManager20final-patched.zip, you don't need to edit .con files.
So finally I'm back with my problem... Today I replaced server files with these http://team-simple.org/download/bf1942_ … 612.tar.gz. It works fine, server accepts both 1.61 and 1.612 versions. But still I can't make it run 128 players!!! "Invalid value of 128 detected for setting game.serverMaxPlayers, using default 32." message in bfsmd.log. WTF? Any ideas?
P.S. Patched BFRM v2.01 doesn't change game.serverMaxPlayers if you set it more than 64...

BFRM or BFSM doesnt write the those values until you press the start button. You must have both BFRM and BFSM patched
I know. I have BFSM patched (see post #1) and BFRM patched v2.01.
When I set, for example, 60 players in BFRM and press Save, it writes it to servermanager.con. Value in serversettings.con doesn't change. Then, after I press Start value in serversettings.con changes to 60 and server runs with 60 slots.
Now, if I set, for example, 120 players in BFRM, everything is the same, BUT - it writes 32 instead of 120 to serversettings.con (after pressing Start) and server runs with 32 slots. It happens every time I try to set more than 64 players.

Checked if I had not forgotten to patch the maximum players limit to 128, but it's there in both .static and .dynamic files. You must be doing something wrong, probably you are not using BFServerManager for Linux patched. You can try to run with 128 players without BFServerManager by editing serversettings.con file and starting the server "./start.sh +statusMonitor 1", it must work if v1.61 and v1.612 clients join the server. Then, overwrite bfsmd with patched one, run it, connect to it with BFRemoteManager and start the server from there with 128 players value.
