Game is running.

I did not find the folder where i installed the game. So i redirected the game executable to a Copy of the Windows BF1942 Folder

It starts, no sound, and in 800x600 (for test) but it works

...

Ok, I can start it hardlocked in 800x600.

With Higher it gives an invalid video Mode

New Trial.

Just downloaded !Pop_OS and installed it between 10 Minutes.

Everything green.

It's 10x easyer then Draugher. My first look was into Hardwaremanager, then Games

You have hundreds of games, you can install just like this. Some OldSchool Shooters and also Quake 2, Minecraft, Quake 3 Arena.

All those you can install with just 1 Click and it installs immediately and fast.

Let's see how far i come with BF1942 later.

You have also a Software Installation Window, ... all those Softwares you can find over-viewable , together with one click.

I installed also Lutris.

I have a new thought in my mind.

I was reading about the Bf1942 Demo.

If it will be available, i install this and overwrite later the complete Folder with the complete one.

Those distros that are based on Ubuntu will all basically work the same. I don't think they are much different under the hood. But sometimes some distros include certain libraries that can give you different results as to which applications you're trying to run.

So try your best, Arkosino, but beware of burnout please.

I'm not saying it's better then Drauger.

Drauger would be the right if you just want play.

You know, there's just one important question, .... "Can it run Battlefield 1942?"

I perhaps also try Kubuntu.

But, one important thing. Drauger is not a full system, but !Pop_OS is and it seemse to be easy to find things like you know it from Windows.

playOnLinux works great for me. never had this good regs. there is some options of settings on this program. do one change. try to play. undo the change. change another. after one two hours of doing some old school try and error it works.

Which settings did you change specifically? And are you talking about POL itself or the BF1942 settings?

made 2 changes. one was in the game. sound channels. set the lowest number.
other was in pol. press bf42 press configure press display: offscreen rendering mode to pbuffer

that depends on hw nowadays. a hurtig enough pc will run bf1942 in a vm just fine.

to arkos: disto hopin to solve a particular problem, ngmi. work from that distribution ur most familiar with. every linux distri on the market is able to run the wine plus bf1942 combo perfectly.

output of "inxi -Gxxxz" from a terminal would be great.

How about first building a vm and then slapping a mbr on it and use it bare metal? Its hopeless to google this, seems nobody has ever done it before as i cantfind anything about it. It would be about the same function-vise as a live-cd

- use the other pc´s fan (use a fan hub)

- use the psu with the highest watts
