Map Vote

Could map vote be turned off by default on simple server? It's distracting as shit, and a vote passes maybe 1/100. The other 99/100, it just takes up room on your screen and breaks concentration. Thanks

It's not the time it takes, Arkosino. It's what you are busy doing when that thing pops up. Highly annoying if you ask me..

the votes never works, it would be a good a idea to just vote one time per map.

Some of that may be from joining late in the map, and want the full experience.
 

"The map is 5 minutes from ending, but I want to play the full map, so I'm going to start a mapvote. The 50 other players on the server? Fuck 'em, I don't care, they can replay the map for another 40 minutes. I WANNA PLAY THIS MAP".

Aaaah yes, the very annoying vote that always manages to appear at the most critical moment mid fight, just to distract you enough to make you lose a duel.

I've been using this for years and IMO it's better than nothing at all...

Backup your originals in case you don't like it, or if you take part in bf-league.  Copy/paste menu.rfa and font.rfa in to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives

These two .rfa files will remove it at the expense of some other missing in-game text...

It could probably be done better by editing a meme file with menu editor, I just cba messing.  At least this way you can still vote, just watch out for the yellow text at the bottom left of your screen.

Or by just editing the lexiconAll.dat file to selectively remove what you don’t want to see. Probably the simplest way.

Imagine typical 12 yo newbie named "ARGENTINAAAA!!" first time installed bf42 he play few days but game has few annoying aspect and one of them is " stupid vote " which made him always "no more" even when there is no enemy around. How you care about your new player? OF course you recommend to him to install something (https://www.mediafire.com/file/c8yjpvhw … 1.rfa/file) from some link from some unknown guy in web from some forum which he don't even know exists, from some topic which he will never found. Nothing more complicated for 98% of them. The vote is annoying for everyone but more annoying when vote win and map is changed every 20 min like in rtw simple server, especially when your game randomly crash when loading all the time, and one man I spoke with few days ago have such problem, I had it too in the past. Jorgens idea to make not voting people's votes same as 7 is the most stupid idea ever. Map will change every 5-10 min. Going further your thinking maps can load one after one every time the previous is ready just after 1 second, and all server can be about loading new map, without even chance to spawn, sound stupid?

Can we get rid of this map vote, it's super annoying.
I now just automatically press 8 , my hand magically moves there and every time I involuntary say F***OFF!

I've never seen a map vote get enough votes either.

I think the mapvote needs a vote added to it so we can vote for a mapvote while we are mapvoting for a map!

If getting 10 mapvotes in a map ain't enough......
