No words for this...ty Deeko. Now we know why we reg much less and have much more trouble playing inf now. And i thought it was on my end...

@deeko
ah thanks for the info. If I understanding the server code I can confirm what you say.
The reason of this patch is to avoid players exploiting the weapon switch.
But in my opinion it is not a very bad/OP exploit.
And using a macro will only give you 1 button advantage, which every decent player is capable of pressing himself
Btw once they learn better they are not new players anymore
(though, I think we agree)

Patch might need a bit of finetuning, however i think those who hoosing crap on tuia for trying a patch can just get the fuck out of his server.
Calm down tough guy. I'm just trying to keep good infantry players from leaving the game because of this patch. You had 3 years to share this information with your admins and players, you didn't. I know you were real proud of it - https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 29#p124329

Let it be known that this is the reason why I cant inf. There is no other explanation.
I thought you prefer knives.

Every game has it's own little tricks and this one isn't even that useful, like you said. I don't think anyone can be bothered to use it, let alone use a macro for it... LOL
Anyways, my goal was to let the players know, so they wouldn't start changing their ISP's or even worse, leave the game. Now that they know they can adjust their gameplay accordingly. Imo still a shit setting, that ruins the game
a patch so mighty and clever, that it broke more than it fixed
Thanks for the info again!
Tuia agreed to remove the patch.
I just realized that my regs are really bad sometimes on simple and sometimes very good.
That while in the same match. Just realized it was this reason probably

meh, you dont know nothing. Russ described it in detail server admins for all the major servers in another forum Mar 2018 - 19:04
the new guys here doesnt know that you are the troll, meanwhile tuia keep fixing bugs and paying for the server.
No bud, deeko knows even too much apparently. People who knew nothing about this are overwhelming majority of active admins on SiMPLE. It's incredible how it takes a perm-banned troll to point out certain things.

You say Russ shared it with someone somehow on another forum, in another life maybe? How many people knew about this at all? Is there an elite restricted group of admins that matters and deserves to know what's going on? Others are garbage? How about regular players affected by this change?
The secrecy of such important change makes me wonder about the purpose of it. Call me ungrateful bastard if you want, but I don't feel respected.

Know this:
Server owners must sometimes make patches/fixes without giving info to the players.
Because there are always other servers unprotected.
And yes apparently this has a negative side effect

n1 deeko, you show some balls
Kindda cool you guys share all your in depth knowledge, but I never really understood why you need to change more than what you can from the ingame settings menu.
Btw. does it make me a shit player if I haven't noticed the changes when I'm switching between aX and Simple. I mean I play regularly on both servers and I haven't feld something was odd. The only things I've "noticed" is that planes are slightly harder to reg on aX and the continuing of really shitty private low populated war servers.

the planes are easier to reg due to the higher refresh rate on Simple.

I agree with that, and I have a similar opinion on this.
Again on the other hand there are also people complaining about regs on both aX and SiMPLE so I don't think removing this *patch* would change anything much
@deeko: Ah nice found, deeko . I completely forgot about about my "first and last time" on the Simple forum. When I took up BF42 again (and again, and again) in 2018 I could only play on the Simple servers, my Ip was for some reason banned on aX. Anyway, suddenly out of nowhere I started to suffer with huge delays and really bad hitregs on Simple servers and my enjoyment of the game disappeared and I quickly stopped playing after that. I was also a bit fed up with the community at that time no offense. But this is long ago, deeko, so I guess this/these mods are long gone?
Nowadays I really enjoy playing and I can play on both of the top servers which usually has a good standard in hitreg imo., it's mostly the private and league servers that can be very garbage like with a lot of delays. You know when you have to shoot 10 bullets before the damage starts to react :-)
@Henk: Oh I had no idea. Sounds like something from CS:GO . But nice to know, do you know where to see what the different servers setup are? I mean it's nice to know if there is a chance shooting down a moving/turning plane or not beforehand
only simple has higher server packet rate.
All other servers are at 20 Hz

Regs are something else. Here is the visual interpretation of that patch
This is how your crosshair would look like every time you switched to your mp, assault, colt, k98 and sniper. Every. Time. Except you didn't see it cause the mod is server side. It takes a good second or two to let it settle to its smallest.
If you really think that this is okay, or that it makes no difference, then to hell with you - you're biased.
https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 87#p125887
People were talking about the change right away, some made videos.
I guess there must have been some misunderstanding of what I wanted to say, though perhaps I wasn't quite clear.
It's not like I don't think this patch is a problem as I haven't had problems because of it, at least as often as others. If I remember correctly, about 2 years ago I had a problem with the aim on the SiMPLE server, which just got a bit worse in a few days. At first I didn't know what the fault was, but I accidentally found a forum post about a server patch made by russ that was just introducing changes to aiming, fixing exploits and other things. So I figured my aim might have gotten worse because of this. Although I forgot about that aim patch completely anyway, because I hadn't played BF42 for almost a year.
The only thing I could go wrong with what I wrote is that if some people have regs problems on aX and SiMPLE, I don't think removing that patch will magically fix their problems, but that applies to these people, and not everyone I could have written before. Even in this thread there are people who have this problem on both servers, but it is not my goal to point out who it is.
By the way, regarding the problems from 2 years ago that you mentioned, the server ran on an Intel Atom processor, which often caused server-side lag on the maps, especially those with a lot of objects. So by combining it with the aim patch, you can easily see what this led to.
