Played this round tonight and we were slaughtered.
Germans invaded the beach and playing as Allies it was a massacre.
I enjoyed it, made it more real trying to capture the beach.
It might set a precedent for the Axis on how to win this map but what a blast as Allies, like the beach scene on SPR trying to get a foothold on the beach.
Much more realistic working out tactics on the ship before getting in the boat.
And dying
I love taking the beach and the hill when odds are against you. Feels good to get that flag after beating the odds. Even after dying many times.
NOT many of us love Omaha it seems. Pretty sure I am one of the FEW!!!!

Yes, Pleiades. That situation is fun, but only if the ship or later the priest take out the defguns between some minutes, that the allies have really a chance to come back into the game.
But nothing bores more, if you report the defguns and they are still up after 10, 12, 21 minutes.
Sometimes because not even one sniper can deliever a target or if they do, they target just the bunkers or the ground of the beach.
Most don't know, that you have to stand on the hills at the beach to target the defguns. (For the Ship).
Taking out Defguns with Priest without a target is easy. Even from the beach you can see the muzzleflash if they are shooting.
But in the past time it's more and more harder, because more and more player are zooking from the Middle Bunkers.

C'mon Arkos, it was out of the box fun.
Never been in that situation before, reading the tactical chat concerning how to approach the beach.
Go left, go right, get a foothold on the beach.
Those dastardly Huns had it all boxed off.
We needed to work out a strategy for this particular situation, out of the norm for this map but work it out and it makes for a great battle.
This was out of the ordinary.
I like reading radio commands on how to gain a foothold against a strong enemy.
Omaha is predictable tactic wise, let them Nazis steal our sunbeds on the beach and we will reclaim them with a vengeance.

Respect to all who played for allies in that game and contempt to all those "pros" who team-stacked axis.
Unfair map as there's mostly stalement and no advantage or disadvantage, but at least you can have fun to overkill
I made a newer version of this map. I solved this problem by having some of the U.S. spawn points on the beach as parachute drops. That gives a great advantage over german base rapers, but I positioned so that it wont hurt Germans in the middle flag, since I made it so that the parachutes cant land near them (only on beach). I also put two tank killing canons on the beach and one 50 cal facing the Germans.

We have one already but I guess another on the other side where the tank spawns would be good.

Good shout, would be less likely to kill teammates storming the ramp.
Only problem is they would be quickly taken out by the def guns as the pak operator would need line of sight.
Another priest tucked round the corner would be better.

Played on a server many years ago that enabled the Allies to parachute behind the rear areas of the German North flag. Pretty sure the map boundary was a little larger, and the buildings were able to be entered and used as cover to attack the German flag from the rear. It wasn't a bad mod provided there were the numbers playing in the server to make use of it.
To be honest, the Allies win this map more times than they should given the Axis advantage.
All depends on how switched on the Axis are and how they play as a team with experienced players in the mix and an inteliigent apc driver.
Stating the bleeding obvious I know as that applies to any map.
Parachuting in from behind may just skew it a little further towards the Allies but over the beach would definitely improve the odds for Allies if the huns have set up their sunbeds.
