Even if you don't celebrate it tomorrow or for those who are not in the US, enjoy the rest of the week and weekend and be thankful for all the good people and good things in your life! Enjoy the good food too, of course!
Even though I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving every year, I don't even really celebrate it lol. When I lived in Da UP of MI, we kinda did, but we view it more as a harvest fest and a special day to focus on what we are thankful for... So basically Thanksgiving lol. Now that I don't live there, I just go to the movies because very few people are there so no one is talking and I can sit wherever I want without having some tall person in front of me
Thank you Sunshine for letting my plants grow! And thanks to all the people who are harvesting my food and the truck driver of course not to forget, the cashier, the farmer etc. etc. thank you all!
...
Ok, where's da party?
Would like to eat some turkey.
...
What if I have nobody to thank for the whole year?
...
Oh yes, ... i have some open wine here.
"Donna Fugata Angheli 1998, Sicilia".
Thank you, Sunshine
...
Btw. I thank god and also the animal i eat somehow 20% of every warm meals. I have to, mostly because it's so good.

Thanks to everybody!
THANKS Sunshine for the well wishing. May the food be warm, the company warmer and the clean-up, easy and fast. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
PS: ALL are welcome to have turkey at our place. Just bring smiles.
Come on down Arkos. Got a plate with your name on it. 16 pound turkey ought to do it. And have a bottle of Hamilton, 2012 vintage and I will hand you the corkscrew.

happy thanksgiving!
Every Thanksgiving day I make a promise to finally read the article in Wikipedia about this holiday, no matter if it's North-American holiday or not, because it's widely represented in the world culture, and every time I read nothing. So, I wish you a good day when everyone loves to eat turkey. Not sure about vegans though...

Since it's my thread, I can go slightly off topic if I want to lol.
November is Native American history month so this is extra special.
Trump signed a bill we have been asking for for years!
Trump signs executive order creating task force on missing and murdered Native Americans

You have no idea how important this is!

The turkey & veggies are the easy part. What comes next is all the cakes, pies,
and other family creations. "Try this, then try this, and don't forget to try that too"..
My gutts are busting..

And what all these native Americans can expect now?

I'd establish the gluttony day with no unnecessary thanks and religion.
It'll help getting resources to tribal police to help with violence and missing people.
Native American women are victims of violence way more than most. Everyone from reservations know multiple people who have been a victim of some sort of violence. Some domestic, some not.
There has long been problems of missing Native American girls. Most are drug related or runnaways who eventually return or get arrested, but many are victims of human trafficking. There hasn't been resources to help report and find them. Now there is.

You are an idealist and a dreamer, I see. There will be nothing that could get better for these people because the history of the country is partly based on expansion at the expense of them. As a result, they are a few and they are in the reservations. It's just a populism and nobody will fund them just because they are "native".

An idealist/dreamer? Not at all. I'm a realist. I know the impact will be minor. But I also know it'll improve.
The issues are much more than an entire post can cover.
