Just bought and installed BF4 and whilst it's leaps and bounds ahead of BF1942 graphically, audibly and pretty much awesome I'm struggling to get into it.
Feel like a fish out of water what with all the symbols floating around and stuff.
Dropped into a conquest map and didn't have a Scooby Doo what the hell was going on although essentially it's the same strategy as BF1942.
Perhaps that's why BF1942 keeps me invested, simple graphics and sound effects but gameplay is awesome.
Maybe I'm too sentimental given I've played BF1942 since it launched but BF4 does immerse you in an almost real scenario of raw battle.
Any fellow BF1942 vets care to comment?
i have played most bf series 1 ,3 ,4 , hardline
4 is the best for now

We are getting too old
...
Played them all but kept coming back to 42. BF4 was ok but BFV knocks it out of the ball park, that said there are a lot more things to think about in BFV and it is full on from the moment you join and the game play is amazing.
After playing BFV for an hour or so and then going back to 42 I find that it is very much easier to play, I am guessing because it is so much more relaxed but as Arkos says we are all getting old.
BF4 was way too fast for me I seemed to die every second. And I rly didn't care for the style of game play.
BF1 was better for me, I played it about 2 months and could hold my own there.
I think for us vets of BF it would take at least a month and a half to get good enough to rly like one of these new BF's.

Thanks for the comments guys, always good to get other opinions.
I bought BF1 a few months ago but not got round to installing it yet.
Will probably bite on BFV when it's on offer then leave it a few months before getting round to giving it a go.
.. forget BF1 and BF5 ... BF4 is the best multiplayer shooter ever ..
