Data Differs From Server (Battlefield Vietnam)

Have installed from the Battlefield Vietnam Redux CD's (the 4 CD's), patched up to v1.21, but I can't connect to my brothers LAN server (on same internet) I get a message saying "Data differs from server". I thought the problem might be that me and my bro had the same CD key (were having invalid cd key before since same key), but we tried a separate CD key (from online) and it still doesn't work but yeah the "data differs from server" message.

I know this forum seems to be all about 1942 but I'm hoping I can get help here, higher chance then anywhere else, but if there is somewhere else someone direct me please!

We used a different CD key on a random youtube video and then downloaded Team Simple's 1.21 patched ZIP which had a text file that read:

Battlefield Vietnam v1.21 patched

Fixes:

* No CD
* Widescreen support
* GameSpy master server replaced with Qtracker

Installation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Extract .zip file, preserving directory structure, in your
"EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam" directory. Overwrite BfVietnam.exe,
init.con, LevelCheck.con and Mod.dll files.

So it seems like the other patch didn't work but simples 2015 one did, so thanks!

If you guys install the same version it should work.

Perhaps a map is missing?

I don't remember exactly, it was some time ago, I think some No CD patches for Battefield Vietnam did not patch correctly for LAN gameplay. That 'Data differs from server' is because your BFVietnam.exe has a different CRC than the executable hosting the LAN server. I believe BFVietnam SiMPLE patch addresses this error.
