I hope that all of y'all are having a good day.
I know this seems like a topic that has been posted many times, however, the problem I have been having is different.
To start, I have a dell Precision laptop, where it has 16 gigs of ram on Windows 10, and is running amazing.
So on with the problems, I get to the point where it shows the play and exit screen (the screen before launching battlefield 1942), and it then says: "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?"
I am very unsure what to do, as I have tried to run it as an administrator, but that will not work.
If anybody could help me solve this problem, I will be very thankful, as I really want to play Battlefield 1942, and I loved this game as a teenager.
I hope that everybody has an amazing day.
Thanks, Blackhole6670.
Where did you get the game client? If you think it's not safe, you always can uninstall it and download another one. I sent you a PM. Don't forget to patch it.

In case you still have problems with launching this game in Windows 10, please read this.
...
And set Bf1942.exe and Blackscreen.exe "Run as Administrator" and set Compatility Mode to XpSp3/2
...
I put the files in the mod folder for Battlefield 1942, and put the x files in the patch data, but it still won't work.
It now says: "Can not find fingerprint!"
What should I do now?
1. Uninstall everything you have installed considering Battlefield 1942.
2. Download the game client from the link in your PM.
3. Patch it.
I am extremely lost at the moment, as I have tried downloading the game client in my PM, and nothing is working.

The "enable DirectPlay" link that nämeless provided earlier is also step you'll need to do for Windows 10, regardless of where you install or download the game from.
(The "legacy" XP-level DirectX support needed for this game just isn't enabled by default in modern Windows platforms any more. "Sometimes" Windows is able to show you a dialog that prompts you to do this when attempting to launch the game; but sometimes you're just stuck at a blank screen and the game simply doesn't launch due to absence of DirectPlay.)
If that doesn't address whatever you're still seeing, when you say "nothing is working" after downloading and installing using the link provided via PM, what exactly is "not working"? The download? Attempting to install after successfully downloading? Attempting to launch the Battlefield 1942 game after successfully installing? And at whichever point it's "not working", what happens instead of the thing that was expected?
Just wanna add that running older games on Windows 10 can sometimes be a challenge. The prompt you're seeing is due to security settings.
Try these steps:
1. Right-click the game shortcut.
2. Go to "Properties" and "Compatibility."
3. Check "Run as administrator."
4. Apply and OK.
