See that there is some darkening in the sides an corners of the monitor? How can i do this in bf1942? Should i edit menu.rfa?
And also, put effects in the sniper reticle, darken the tank and other interior views, maybe add some dirt,

Yes i do, maybe the darkening is impossible, but the interior views can be done, i might try doing one as a test

This is a mod of FH of BF2. But for darkening and better graphics you can use enb series.

Yes you can also change troop clothes and whole troops.
I use photoshop for troops tex editing.

You can change iterior too.
But i think not in case of tanks.
You can change int of plane stuka and vehicles.

Currently im using boris vorontov s enb series for bf1942 and it looks awesome, especially for the maps ive tested with new textures (for example jingo made an hd texture pack for berlin, and i think there was one for the desert, and for the pacific thethre). I will try to make my own enb series with Enb series configurator, sadly no reflections effects can be added, ive already tested them ingame, and they even reflect the hud. Thanks for your help, i will pm you, because all that will be helpfull. I already have experience skining for dod source cod2, but anything on 3d model making. owever there was one model editor for bf42, and you could replace the 3d models, and view them. I dont remember the name, but the guy in the tutorial did a big colt with it.
i think it was noesis3d, also can you make, for example, that every unit has a different helmet, like the sniper and the medic, but also one for the engineers, the assault, the antitank,, or maybe a new model like a cap. And how do you make all that to work in multiplayer? ive heard that you have to rename it to a bigger number (like textures_002.rfa) , and the modify another file?
Also if anyone coud give me links to new textures, for the terrain and buildings, it will be wecome.

read the swaffy source to figure out how he did his cameras - the scope dirt seems like a modification of the scope graphic to simply appear less clean.
for the interior views, i think you actually place the camera someways inside the model and just give that camera something to see in there - i know that eve of destruction does this, and so you can investigate that code.
remember - battlefield 1942 mods are really open-source, i have yet to hear of code obfuscation for the con format and i doubt anyone would want to develop it, let alone use it, so if you see cool effects, just reverse-engineer them or even just directly use their method and adapt it to your purposes, they'll be happy they could help!
with the scope graphic - remember that people are gonna be using that scope, ensure that the scope is... usable!

ok, thank you very much for your help, the 3rd person crosshairs in swaffys mod looks like if he fixed the gun to move with the mouse, i dont know how to explain it in english, but its like in the modern battlefield games, i would like to make that for tank and planes and for the soldier, so it looks like a gta. For the soldier, the camera wil be nearer and with a crosshair. I would like to add the front view for tanks, planes and infantry.
Also crosshairs for the ships.
Ive read some threads in other forums that explained how to enable the 3rd person in bf1942, and how to add better graphics or effects to the game modifying certain files

oh i dont ave swaffys mod just the screenies, and im not going to download another 1gb mod myabe in an near future
For now, could you send me links to cool sp supported maps that you know? It would be cool to reease the remasterization, when its finished with new maps, if the authors agree. I have habiity in mapping from sw bf2 and 1 but nothing on battlefield, and i dont think i could make ai support for it sadly, and i have many good ideas. For now the japanese will have the normal helmet for infantry, and a covered helmet for medic, and a covered one with net for the sniper (the second one still has to be made). i didnt make any face or hand yet, or view etc, because my cdisk is almost full. he soldier skin part will be simiar to ro2, because i really like the models of that game.
But help me on this, this is the most important, how to make it to work on multiplayer, please answer, i already modified texture.rfa and it worked with new skins, but not in multiplayer, shoud i make texture_001.rfa and what else?

The darkening will be possible with ReShade, because it has a shader exactly for that (vignette). But at the moment the game is unstable with ReShade...
I would like to know more about texture modding too, because i started to add high resolution textures to the game, but i can't change anything without getting the data differ error. Seriously, others even changed the ground textures (Combat in Flames mod), but i can't.

The planes have different cameras settings then "all" the other vehicles (soldiers counts as a vehicle to). Its something hardcoded in the .exe file. The cameras is a very tricky overall in bf42.

Can't be done dude, forget about it.
Register an account on http://bfmods.com if you dont have so already, its a bit slow but the modders do check in from time to time. Swaffy is still rather active, i go by the alias of freddy there, and i check in about once a month or so.

also in swaffys mod its nice that you can move more the camera more from the inside views
look at the 3rd person in the sherman in this video. You can see how the crosshair is used, its different from the plane but this one also looks awesome, like in modrn bf games. i would prefer something more similar to the plane camera with crosshairs for the troops, but with the one from the tank i wouldnt have a problem and i just would add the front camera view.

Also, the new background.bik is almost finished, but i have too much footage (real ww2) and its difficult to choose them for a 2min and 42 second video. I was inspired by mc mod background.bik, and some footage was taken from the same videos.
But still Its nothing great
now that i see, in the second video its an older version of smod, and it still didnt have the 3rd person crosshairs for the plane
Until i dont know how to use the custom textures, without getting the "Data differs from sever" error, i wil not make anyone of them. I will download enb series configurator, and i wil try to do my best. Ive already configured enb series but nothing very important. Yesterday, ive tried modfying the bloom enb series to add water reflections but i didnt turn out nicely, it reflected too many things, incluiding the hud.
I will try to add third person, finish the new background.bik, and i dont know what more.
I know the custom textures can be used in servers, but dont know how, any kind of small, little help, will be welcome.
