I just downgraded to Windows 10 home and I play forgotten hope secret weapons it's a modification to battlefield 1942, now in the game at a certain direction I look gets low FPS ranging 3 to 14 mainly when I look at buildings or lots of vehicles.
I never got this before until I went to Windows 10 home.
here is my system specs
Windows 10 64-bit
AMD ryzen 7
16 GB of RAM
GeForce GTX 1080 TI
And I have two monitors hooked up
I think it's something to do with the Windows 10 home updates then I'm having second thoughts about the GeForce updates or settings I don't know can someone help?
...
What you mean, ... downgrade to Windows 10 Home?
1. For and from what?
2. And which Ryzen?
...
...
> Try once in nVidia Control Panel to config the Gameprofile for Bf1942 to "Single Display Performance Mode".
And look if you have some heavy load from some programm if this is happening.
> Taskmanager > Start > Run > taskmgr > Details > Sort by CPU and then Memory.
...
This has nothing to do with your graphic card but with the map itself. The same thing happens in the custom vanilla map Kharden Khaos because there is an insane number of static objects concentrated in a small area. When you orient your player towards the static objects, the FPS lag occurs and when you look away the FPS returns to its normal value. This also occurs in vanilla Liberation of Caen but to a lesser extent.

Not with this hardware and Forgotten Hope.
Perhaps you should make a clean Deinstall of the Graficdriver with DDU and then reinstall the newest after restart.

(Before deinstall also the Graficcard Tuning Tool, like Asus GPU Tool. I hve this and it also made some problems in the past).

I had Windows 10 professional before I had Windows 10 home.
Never had this issue with professional and trust me was not my choice to downgrade to home.
"2. And which Ryzen?" I had the same question before And before I said "AMD ryzen 7" I mean, I'm playing a game from 2002, I mean no disrespect when asked this question.
But I'm going to try this DDU, if this doesn't work i'm going to format my computer and go buy Windows 10 professional.
Thank you for the replies.
...
Around here you can buy Windows 10 Pro for some francs.
You can even use a Windows 7 Professional key, which you can get even cheaper. Most people have also some lieing around in da house.
With the Windows 7 Pro Key just go to the DownloadSite from Microsoft and download Windows 10 Pro it with your Windows 7 key.
But then this key is only working (activated), on 1 Machine.
...
Btw. I meant Ryzen 1000, 2000 or 3000.

thank you for replying I gave you some reputation points I hope that's good thing
I would have some laying around but I was hit by hurricane loss almost everything except my one computer and one monitor and some other stuff out of three computers and some other monitors and software's and etc. back in 2017.
Did you try to monitor CPU/RAM during FPS drop? Also, does it happen in other games?
This ↑ You can try running the game in window mode, check with some tool like msi afterburner and collect some data.
In one of my older computers the graphic card had three modes, something like energy saving, middle and top speed, and it was stuck on the energy frequency mode when i played bf42. It was enough for decent fps in the vanilla maps, so in the end just left it like it was.
In addition to that, if an object whether a static or a player-controlled object (PCO) like vehicles had a very high poly count on collision mesh can cause severe framerate drop when the same model are hitting each other. Just like the previous BattleGroup42's Final release candidate 3 which I reported from the mod's website in November 2017 (it was fixed on current FRC4; kudos to Sarge31FR for that! ):

Battlegroup also had (or has) the same problem of FPS drops with particle effects. I didn't try to explore the reason, but probably it's too high sprite particles intensity

Ahhh, the "Jack-in-the-box effect" which introduced in earlier release candidate 1 until it was later pulled out on subsequent releases. It was a great sight to see a tank turret blown off in the air, but yeah the framerate was dropped on every tank kills!

okay I bought me a new power supply a new video card, still the same issue and I did software testing on hard Drive, Ram and video card all result comes in positive.
Formatted my computer and I try to do some other things I can't remember
here is a benchmark result for better detail on my computer.

You could try GameMode in some game and you could run Bf1942 just on 1 or 2 cores.
...
And I have two monitors hooked up
How does that work when you play? Is the game running on one monitor or both?
Have you tried running the game in window-mode?

I also had this, not sure if this is exactly what helps, but likely it is
In game, go options -> video -> set texture quality to lower value, like 60
sounds simple, but still
...
He has a powerfull machine.
The only thing comes into my head is the 4GB Patch for FH etc.
...
Yes, you should try it once with just one Monitor and set inside nVidiaControlPanel for Bf1942 > SingleDisplayPerformance mode
...
And it's also not a good idea to play with open Browsers in the background.

this one is a good thought, maybe it's a software conflict with Windows 10 now
And yes I've tried all of that stuff.
I don't know anymore.
I go play on my brother computer, no problem at all.
the only thing I have left is my processor and motherboard and that's going to get expensive.
I even updated my BIOS in the motherboard
...
Omg, ... wrong Thread - deleted
...
I've been meaning to get back with you guys thanks for helping, I found the solution it was the 4 GB patch, I installed it fixed everything and there are some unexplained thing but everything is fixed.
