In this topic you can post videos/pictures of weapons from the second world war.
I'll start first with this beast:
King Tiger's front armor was never penetrated during it's whole use in WWII.
how deadly is MG42? Its fire rate is 1200-1500 rounds per minute(bullets per minute)...
a scene from Saving Private Ryan 1998(my fav WWII Movie ever..) opening scene which is Omaha,Normandy D-Day.....

MG42 is strong, no wonder why it was called "Hitler's buzz-saw", but is no match to sagacious and brave American soldiers!
i have to watch that movie one of these days
i have to watch that movie one of these days
It is an EPIC film Zwarrior! It is an ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH and I feel like buying it for you so you can see it.
Its that powerful. Right from the first 5 minutes. Intense.
Grab the popcorn, have an adult beverage and sit for the three hours I believe and notice you probably have not even tasted the popcorn, until the 30 minute mark or so.............cause you likely were not even breathing let alone eating!
Might explain why I am the ONLY player.......that loves Omaha Beach on 42..................

Day Of Infamy's map of Omaha is pretty intense and very realistic.
You don't even have crosshairs .
You can select a flamethrower though and that is very satisfying, the death animation when frying enemy soldiers is awesome.

A Swiss weapon. The company was taken over by Rheinmetall in 1929.
This was an option due the restrictions by the Versailles Treaty.

After 10'000 shots you have usually to change the barrel.
We had a guy in military, he ignored that and the barrel exploded. The cartridge case went through his half head. I don't know it for sure, but i guess it was a self ignition of the cartridge.
But he had luck. It entered at the chin and left somewhere near the ear.

Hmm... If i remember it right, it was not happening that way. After some ammunition belts, (some belts à 200 bullets), and if a cartridge was still inside the Chamber, it could give an spontaneous combustion.
That happend to him. He just forgot to unload the chamber. And 20-30 secondes later it made "Bumm".
Btw. For the MG 51 it was not 10'000 shots per barrel, ... much less. Perhaps 2000 or so before you had to switch it. They had 4 barrels A-D from the same production and 2 special barrels E + F for the hotter combat trainings, 3 weeks in the alps.
