Hi guys.Military service is service by an individual or group in an army or other militia, whether as a chosen job (volunteer) or as a result of an involuntary draft (conscription).
Some nations (e.g., Mexico) require a specific amount of military service from every citizen, except for special cases, such as physical or mental disorders or religious belief. Most countries that use conscription systems only conscript men; a few countries also conscript women. For example, Norway, Sweden, North Korea, Israel, and Eritrea conscript both men and women. However, only Norway, and Sweden have a gender-neutral conscription system, where men and women are conscripted and serve on equal formal terms. Some nations with conscription systems do not enforce them.
Nations which conscript for military service typically also rely on citizens choosing to join the armed forces as a career.
Some nations with armed forces do not conscript their personnel (e.g. most NATO and European Union states). Instead, they promote military careers to attract and select recruits; see military recruitment.
Some, usually smaller, nations have no armed forces at all, or rely on an armed domestic security force (e.g. police, coast guard).
And I should ask you guys is Military service good or bad?
Should it be compulsory?
It would be a good alternative for those who are not working or studying.
I personally think is good because you are formed free.
and of course it should be voluntary

Swiss has a Miliz-Army
Every man in swiss has to resolve military service. 245 days for normal soldiers (17 weeks + 7 x 3 weeks or so due the following years). (Up to 680 days).
Free for woman, but they can if they want.
But due the reduction of the Army, some can make civil service intead of the army, but between 1-5 times of the usual time. Usually 3x.
...
And if you can't make it at all, sicness or so, you have to pay for at least 11 years max to the age of 37.
In the past it was paying compensation for Lifetime.
