I was born there and left this place when a was 16. City called Surgut. Sometimes -50 happens there.
My mother live there and she has a warm garage for car.
Most of people start engine every 4-6 hours for 15 mins to warm up a bit.
By the way, my car starting even in -40 without problems.

Here it was -11 and in higher regions up to - 35 some days ago.

But it felt much colder here, when it was around -3 to +1 with a heavy northeasterly wind before the snow came. 

Btw. Rekord in Swiss is - 42.5 at 342m a.s., but it was 1987.

I was in Surgut, Tobolsk and Tyumen. The winter in these West-Siberian towns is cold but pretty mild due to low humidity. The frost is dry. I can feel -25 here in the European part of the country like -40 there.

And this is Yakutsk city today, one of the coldest place in Russia and world

I want snow I miss the cold and crazy loads of snow of the UP!

FL is currently going through a bit of a "cold snap." Actually, we did a couple of weeks ago as well.. colder than what it is now.. a little below freezing for a couple of nights. All the FL-born noobs here were crying about the cold.

A friend of mine, together with 2 Comrades, have been caught in an avalanche some hours ago at Lenzerheide Mountains. 

He is an military mountain specialist (standby detachments), ~20 Years old, on duty.

He is unharmed, but one of his friends is heavy injured.

That's the top of that hill after.
