In this BF1942: Secret Weapons and BF1942: Road to Rome tournament, 16 infantrymen will fight in a knockout tournament that starts at the Round of 8.
The tournament maps are the following:
- if_essen = flag by flag Conquest map, outcap the enemy to win
- if_hellendoorn = Fight for Middle type of map, with the middle flag located inside the church in Hellendoorn
- if_cassino = Fight for Middle type of map, with the middle flag located at the middle of the ruined monastery
- traptown = Fight for Middle type of map, with the middle flag located at the middle portion of the city area
These maps can be downloaded here. You must have the Secret Weapons and Road to Rome expansions installed on your computer in order for these maps to work. Install instructions are provided in the README files for each map file provided in the ZIP.
In this cup, there is room for 16 contestants, divided in teams of two. Signing up for the cup is done on a first come, first served basis. All cup registration will be handled on this topic, and cup progress will be posted here. There is no need to register anywhere else, nor is there any need to track the progress of the cup on a third-party website.
On the first post of this thread, the cup start date, list of contestants and progress will all be available.
To sign up for the cup, simply provide the following information:
A) Your team name + members
B) A date and time when you are available
C) Country
Requirements to be a cup contestant:
1. You must be registered on the SiMPLE forums
2. You must have BF1942: Secret Weapons of WWII and BF1942: The Road to Rome expansion packs
3. You must download and install the if_essen, if_cassino, if_hellendoorn and traptown maps on your computer, from this link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ndea4e1ow … y+Maps.zip
The sign up process will close once we hit 8 team registrations. When the full number of teams is reached, the "CUP LIVE DATE" (the date on which the cup starts) will be posted here.
If someone wants to live stream the matches, you are free to do so. As a cup contestant you are also encouraged to film your matches, but this is not mandatory.
Match rules
1) All matches will take place on the {SoH} War Server [GER] server
2) The game mode for the cup is set to Conquest
3) Match time is set to 20 minutes per round for two rounds, so 40 minutes per match
4) On maps that have uncaps, such as if_cassino, traptown and if_hellendoorn, it is forbidden to attack the enemy uncap
5) For contestants that live outside of Europe, a 50/50 rule will be applied. That means that the side from the US or Canada for example will have it's match played in an American or Canadian server
6) No bugging, hacking and glitching will be tolerated. The excessive use of the prone bug will lead to a warning, and an exclusion from the tournament if it is repeated
7) Screenshots of every match results must be taken at the end of each rounds, or the match will not be valid
8) All tournament maps may only be picked once by a team. It is forbidden to play the same map twice

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER STATS*
*Minus the stats from Arkos and tuia, since I need the statistics.csv file from tuia's server to generate those.
*If there is a problem with those dates and times, please contact your opponent to let me know and post it on the forums so I can rearrange a date that makes sense for both teams.

Yes. But remember the other SoC team will have huge pings there (and your partner too).
Anyone want to cast the matches?
is it possible to watch the match live?
is it possible to watch the match live?
If I can find someone that's willing to cast yes.
I can make available a BF1942 server in London, England and Gravelines, France. I would prefer to play our match there, if our opponents agree, instead of SoH server because the pings would be about equal for both teams.
It's a shame that it is too late to participate in these 2V2 challenges
Have fun guys

If I make another inf cup, which is highly likely, you will be the first to know.
I didn't think this SW/RTR cup would be so popular, was expecting no teams to sign up as usual. I'd love to have a 16 teams mega inf tournament with the same maps, that would be sick.
For casting, the forum user "MCSheaG" might give us a hand, I am still waiting for him to confirm if he can do it.
Other than that, spectators are welcomed as long as they behave nicely and don't disturb the competitors.
Oh so we can even spectate from ingame! Very nice
wish known players would sign up for these tournies and not just public randoms
mightve been bothered to have signed up if that was the case
It's even better that these players are interested in playing a competitive event rather than the usual clan players. It means the competition is growing somewhat.
The tank 1v1 event should be big, watch out for that one.
