banned 3 days for trying to help the server

today at simple fra , map - omaha, allies didnt get the first flag, and was stuck in a corner of the map at the ship. any intelligent player knows that this situation means that the map is ruined, and that allies never will get any flag ... especially when there are as many players on as there was today : 70+

70+ players were forced to sit and wait for 30 mins, doing nothing because of this, on a sunday in primetime

the only reasonable thing to do for admins or players in this situation, is to end or restart the map, because this locked omaha situation has zero purpose and leads to nowhere

all the experienced players, including me, typed restart the map /run next ... but no admin did this

as an allied player - when admins arent doing anything like today - the only thing you can do to end the map, is to sink the ship by firing zooks at the destroyer turret, so allies wont be able to spawn, so tickets will run down quickly - ending the map

so this is what i did

most players and some admins wont understand this behaviour, and will think its a kind of disruption / malign thing to do, which it isnt ...

i was banned for three days for this .... !

i should be rewarded for what i did, not punished ...

gio banned you wait for him ,usually some trolls do this , disconnect and later they join axis with fake names , if this happens at early time of map restart is a most cause it will be unfair game

Ok I had just joined and got reports of bfplayer constantly zooking own ship . I have told before that if it was a recognizable name maybe I would talk to you before ban but you have to understand that people mostly use that nick for bad reasons.
I understand the reason and this situation also pisses me of in this map but until someone fixes this stupid rule of axis camping beach omaha will just be like that sometimes.
With that said the ban is for 3days but I dont have access to remove it . I agree if someone wants to do it

Sanctioning that guy was the right thing to do. Attacking friendly vehicles is against the server code. One person with default name gets to decide for everybody esle which situation is hopless and when to end the map. If you even manage to destroy the ship you'll force everybody in your team to sit in front their monitors ("on a sunday in primetime") and wait 3 minutes without even participating, waiting for everybody to die or the ship to respawn. There is nothing wrong with omaha that should be fixed with rules or regulation. The way it's designed is intentional and it aims to recreate the battle historicly accurate. If there is something to fix, it's the apc spawn but it benefits both teams in different stages of the game.Even that way the situation about beach flag is much better than camping on mount suribachi where most of the time you get spawn killed and some people get to score 200+ kills just by spamming ship artillery the entire game (that's what ... 25 % of all japanese tickets and the guy doesn't get to die even once, cuz there is no adequate protection against POW on the map)

SFV should not be tolerated even in this situation in my opinion. It's ridiculous if someone thinks he's helping the server with this. Reminds me some "intelligent and experienced" players who deliberately attack own carriers (on the Coral sea map for instance), just because they dont like the map or fails and try to end it as soon as possible.

Agree, this outcome of the Omaha map for allies is not exactly great and could be very often frustrating, especially if the current map setting is not favourable for allies as for of insufficient combat firepower (one destroyer to spawn is not really enough, problem is even its position, which can be easily zeroed by coastal artillery) or allowing Germans rush to the beach and camping the beach from the start using apc and probably more. But I believe it can still be playable and funny for players in an effort to find original ways to reverse this situation. Sure, if you play the game just because you want to satisfy yourself with the k/d ratio, you are probably finished here, but instead of damaging own or bitching about, next time we should at least gather all the available landing boats, get as many people as possible and hit the beach at once as a team....

moongamers - the biggest bf1942 server 2009 - 2012 fixed omaha too. they had a standard rule where they started kicking all axis in the beach flag zone after x minutes, so allied could get the flag. it wasnt unusual to see 10+ kicks in a round for that

both are reasonable things to do. when 20+ axis are waiting on the beach, doing nothing, and the ship is in a corner, there is no game ..... zero .... niente, and everybody in the server will have to wait, doing nothing for the rest of the round. its a unique situation that only occurs on 1 of the 21 maps

anybody who thinks that the "omaha stalemate" is cool / valuable / entertaining, and that nothing should be done to prevent it from happening often, are completely braindead in my opinion
