yes. instead of focusing on the problems it's better to focus on solutions.

the corona-virus has infected 1000 and killed 26. and has spread to usa with 2 confirmed infected. lets all go to iceland. the last place to get infected in the game Plague. but i am not that scared. i'll just go fishing if the shit hits the fan. then i just have to talk to a few ppl.

Our high school, taught us there was an impending ice age coming and the Earth was in the cycle for cooling off. Scared the hell out of us all back then. Today its warming. We never got to freeze our asses off. (HAPPY about that)

On the East Coast USA we have fossil shellfish, in high concentrations, in rocks Upstate New York. A rock the size of your hand can have well over 30 shellfish fossils in them. Thats one HECK of a change in environment. Its mountainous up there incidentally. WELL above sea level today.
Biggest fear per se? Bio war. With any luck, will be in the mountains by then or dead! Dead from old age. Or my cooking.

We used to call that concept "Utopia".

what disgusts to me is 2 days ago i saw a video in twitter that a chinese man is eating a bunch of thumb sized rats.they are alive and moving, he is dipping in sauce and munching along with wine.....its not going from my mind....

Not that I underestimate the situation but doesn't it look weird to you that people in Asia are used to eat snakes, bats, dogs etc., etc. for years, for hundreds of years from a generation to a generation and only now this rare case of the virus spread from animals to humans appeared?

but, I mean to say is there might be a CHANCE that broke out NOW due to eating them, which had not appeared since years..

We can't predict everything like its because of that or because of this for every uncertainty ...but for evaluating such conditions like Corona-virus, chances of incidence to be evaluated by their food habits, hygiene etc., otherwise doctors cant know/evaluate how the disease broke out.what are the reasons that caused such disease..

I have done my graduation in Agriculture and Plant Sciences..What we learnt is whether its a plant doctor or Human doctor, how they evaluate the causes and mode of spread of disease is by evaluating the symptoms in both plant or human, environment they live, food they consume(in case of humans), types of insects that live in area of plants, microbes that exists in soil which could spread diseases to them(plants), which microbe causes the disease, what carries disease causing organisms(vectors) from plant to plant or animal to animal etc., need to be checked and evaluated..

Should'nt we focus on such things which has a PROBABILITY of spreading such deadly viruses? I think its clear now...

Been happening for forever. There are many types of coronavirus. We just know about the recent ones because we have better detection, DNA sequencing, etc. We know what it is. Many diseases have jumped from animals to humans. Hell, even anthrax.

100 years ago, they'd view this as pneumonia. Thousands of caged animals kept in shitty conditions results in disease

Another thing... many many years ago, people were in much smaller groups and didn't keep tons of animals caged up. If people got sick, that small group could be affected. But the lack of contact with other groups prevented the spreading. Now we are so connected. You have a huge group doing what they're doing and international travel... so it just goes crazy.

I would agree with one "but" - Black death happened exactly about that "many years ago" period of time when people were fewer on Earth than now.

The situation with this Chinese virus explosive spread reminds me of Chernobyl.
China is just like another USSR.
When Chernobyl happened, all firemen who were sent in first waves of liquidators were told nothing about what are they going to fight with.
Media was silent.
Only when the radiation cloud spread further to Europe and western media started talking about it then first information appeared about some catastrophiy in USSR happened.
On the other hand I don't want to make some conspiracy theory.
I just don't trust things people say that easy.

By "many many years ago" I didnt just mean hundreds, but also meant thousands.

"Small groups" I was referring to hunters and gatherers. An example... a lot of people talk about diseases such as smallpox that made it's way to Native Americans by settlers. Few people mention that before colonization, diseases wiped out a big chunk of the population of various tribes all over. There was a major die-off in the southeast US long before any European landed.

The main reason why black death spread all over was due to trade. Those fleas/rats were able to go everywhere.
