If you can reach BIOS, motherboard may not be damaged. It could be your hard disk in that case. But, look at your motherboard capacitors it could have some burst or leaking ones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
You can try to change some hardware in your computer, if you have spare parts, till you can pinpoint your problem.

One time I changed and added more RAM last year and it helped make it faster. But I guess it's pointless trying to save a dying animal.

I may go take it to a pc repair place this week and see how much it costs to repair or just buy a cheap one there.

Took it to the tech place yesterday and they called back today. It's dead

Motherboard has a lot of damaged parts and CPU barely kickin when they tested it. Good news is that the video card, power supply, RAM, and most importantly the hard drives are all ok!

It is easier to just buy a new computer and toss the RAM since it is too old. Probably won't use video card because it is still an agp one. Any pc bought now will be 10x better than that one anyway.

I got this thing called a barebone. It was on sale for cheap because its old but a little better than the one i had. It has the case and a motherboard and cpu (2ghz) already in it! It is older so I am stll able to use my agp video card. I bought ram for it which is a older version. I got everything for $25 total .

My brother is going to put the video card in and connect the old hard drive we had. I can't get the damn things in!
