BSOD!

I updated Avast to the next version...Version 9 (2014). Now I get a bsod and error for fssfltr_tdi.sys. I read that other people are having similar problems when updating but Avast doesn't have a solution yet sad

I went to safe mode and tried to do a restore but I can't restart so it doesnt restore correctly.

Anyone ever experience this? I have WinXP Pro. Should I try to uninstall avast in safemode? Sometimes my monitor enters save power mode and I can't get it to turn back on though.

Yes but it says it doesn't restore because it couldn't restart properly or something.

Re: BSOD!

The computer would not load Windows (BSOD), until we reverted prior to the update using system restore.

That seems to be the solution for the issue.
http://www.runscanner.net/lib/fssfltr_tdi.sys.html8
Maybe scan also the registry or boot the system from a rescue disk(kasperksy :-P)
Ah and if you can start the safe mode: In my opinion it should be possible to delete just the updates of a programm, there is somewhere a box which you have to tick to see the updates but I am not sure, I worked last time with XP 4-5 years ago

and now for Kobra :-P

http://www.stern.de/digital/computer/ko … 6435.html8 sorry, it is just in german. Honestly I was too lazy to find a similar one in english :-D

Re: BSOD!

2 possibilities as mentioned:

1st one:
Uninstall the update or the whole program and scan the registry and let it repair.

2nd one:
Take the rescue disk of Kaspersky and boot your computer with it and let everything scan.

I would recommend the first one.
