A recovery is needed when your muscle group got tired, that is to say after a tiring exercise. 100 push ups, that's not a lot (2x50) it takes me 2 minutes and i dont feel my muscles tired enough to need a recovery.

I don't mean that 100 push ups enable you muscle your body a lot, I say that it enables you feel better

After if you wanna look like a too much muscled idiot guy with no brain, you will need to do more exercise than 100 push ups every day. I only do 100 push ups + 50 pull ups with a bar everyday and it helps me feel good and have a nice body

It depends on your body weight! I can compare 100 push ups with the bench with 80*5 five repeats * 5. My chest and triceps groups would sure need a rest after that for recovery. My weight is 86 kilo.
I don't know your weight, but 100 push ups everyday sounds alot. Far enough  to train same mousle groups for dynamic strength which obviously you do. The muscles needs to rest. Not just only the muscles, you got leads that takes alot focus as well! Your body feels great now because you're young? Wait a 10-20 years and you may have problems with your joints and muscles. Try to rest 48 hours between the activity and see if you can drag some difference. "A recovery is needed when your muscle group got tired," No, cause it's a very individual claim to say if your muscles are tired or not. I mean ofc you're tired if you do 100 push ups, then it goes an hour and you feel fit for fight again or maybe fit for fight next day? Just because you don't get muscle Soreness next day it does not mean you are willing to go out and train the same groups again, because you will hurt them. I'm studying this for gym teacher, I got my facts.

100 push-ups and 50 pull-ups!? That is madness!

Re: Food, Health and Fitness

My weight is 68 kilos (and I am 1m81 tall). Perhaps it is easier for me to do that kind of exercise because I am slim. I eat a lot, I do some exercise but I don't get weight...

Sleven, you think that I should get some rest ? To get muscle, you need to make it work hard. And I don't have that feeling with 100 push ups...  I don't know if it would work better.... In my case, 50 push ups are the equivalent of 10-11 pull ups. I can't do more in a row. And it took me some time to do that. When I started, I only could do like 10 push ups in a row hahaha. After doing 50 push ups, I can feel that my muscles have worked a bit tongue But after a few minuts, I am fine !

Like Sleven said, it seems that those exercise don't enable me get very muscled but it is more my body nature, I am slim so that my muscles are enough visible for me (I don't want to be muscled, I only want to have an attractive body)

Re: Food, Health and Fitness

What is for you a "much muscled idiot"? You mean bodybuilder on roids? Some people have too much, i agree with that, but there is nothing wrong with building some muscles. With your 100 pushups on 68 kg you will never get such muscles, don't worry. big_smile

For me it is rather attractive to have muscles then to be slim and skinny.

Is he a "much muscles idiot"?

So you are 5'8 and 150lb in standard I think. If you're not fat, then you have a good sense of control over your body. But you're short :-/ It's ok! Many of us are short!

Mehh... many people consider that a bit on the short side. I've always thought average is like 5'11-6'1

It's not my body in the future so I don't care tongue And Sommarel if you feel fine by doing 100 push ups everyday, go for it. I also prefer endurance strength but not in the way that tears unconsciously wink

Many people are talking about overtraining but those navy seals don't have any problems with that. tongue But you are right, a muscle should rest long enough to regenerate. Otherwise you are interrupting your regeneration all the time.

I wouldn't do only pushups. You have to train both side and not only the front side. This can cause shoulder problems. I would combine pullups and pushups, both great exercises.

Avg for women is about 5'5 or so. I'm 5'1.. with shoes :-/ I hear people say for men.. about 6ft. But you are probably right. I think people just want to boost everything a little higher. I hear people (who happen to be 6ft or taller) talk about men who are short. But maybe they jusr want to feel special lol. I also think it depends where you live. Like Asia may be smaller.
