Current State of BF1942

Having spent the last few days on SiMPLE and aX server, mostly just watching players and doing admin stuff, I have come to think about the current state of BF1942. After I had already kicked a dozen of players on aX server within a few minutes, because some people don't seem to give a damn about rules or are simply clueless about the game, I began to feel like I was slowly transforming into a second Yoda, so much so that I could almost feel the force.

I could have easily made the whole server empty but then who would have been left to play with? And no disrespect to aX of course, for s[sk] is doing a great job, and SiMPLE and all other servers aren't much different.

I know that there have always been noobs around since the dawn of mankind but even a few years back when you filtered out all the noobs, there were still enough great players left to have fun with. I had hoped that when EA gave away this game for free there would come a swarm of new players who would help keep BF1942 alive, but I think these people are destroying this game just like the Mongol hords, not giving a damn about the culture.

What do you guys think, is there still any hope or did this game already die many years ago and I just didn't notice?

Hell I banned Jedder 17 times one night on another server.....

I have learned from playing, being a admin for over 10 years and at one point running servers that you cant save, stop, or make everyone happy. All you can do is what you think is the best for the server and the game. I have seen servers killed by one admin that the owner did not do any thing about and servers killed by over use of admin and to many rules.

(bocage) forgeting the admin part... and when the map changed to BX... you're ass started to get pwned hard... and after a while... kick kick kick... for basecamp*baserape*pixeling... rules that werent applied to bocage...

Personally, I think some people take this game way too seriously.

Anyway...

Seems like many of the servers that have people on them are in EU. It's not fair for us with high pings that live on the other side of the world . But I have found servers that are populated enough to have a good time when I'm on (even though the game sometimes makes me rage and makes me want to violently harm some of you -.-)

There is BF42, BF2, BF3, and I think BF4 soon? My computer is old and I can only play this one, but I'm sure the newer ones have a lot more players. Eventually, this game will "die" and you either have to move on or play by yourself. There's always other games to play.

I agree with seventy, this game will never die! Even if all of us active players gather on only one existing server. At least we'll all know rules and no one will get kicked.
