My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

This is my first video.

Its the normal for me on SiMPLE, far from being the worse I experience on the server. Its jittering all the time, I need to adjust almost every movement I make and alot of times hits dont reg as you can see on 2:25. Also not being smooth seems it runs so much faster than its supposed to be. This is only a 3:30m movie, try that for some couple of hours and u see why my headaches...

Adding to it I have that same old problem that I shoot a whole clip, I hear the sound, but bullets arent leaving gun though counter is going down. Then it goes back to 30 again. Same as zero...booom Im dead...

I don't think this is caused by the server.. I will take an ingame movie to show you. And the reload problem occurs sometimes when you take a gun from somebody else. It's a bug wink

That is because only 3 grenades are allowed to have in 1 play (I think) so you would lay closeby a ammobox and nade constantly smile

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

So I finally could upload a 30 seconds play with an average ping of 20. (commandate che in the first 2 secs big_smile )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3OeXI8EIV0

So I don't think it's a server problem?

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

Why don't you buy a decent computer Lecter? I bet the problems are gone then.....

Just my 2 cents big_smile

Try a Mac and dual boot it; since I did that 3 years ago i've had no problems at all. I.e. no crashes! (which I experience daily with my laptop using for work)

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

All that jitter is a computer problem, no doubt about it. However, that no hits at 02:25 I've also experienced before, it's strange. I'm going to tweak the server settings.

hm, i think x2  has tsc drift problems

try to disable cool'n'quiet in bios if you can find it there, maybe install this aswell

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896256

EDIT:

you can also try this

http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamic … 53&lang=us

it syncs tsc in both cores

I remember there was problem with bf42 when the AMD dual core cpu came out, but i think it was crash related. Anyway they solved it back then by setting bf42 to use only one core (affinity)

I wonder if it could be some conflicts with the IRQ settings, its not very common problem nowadays tho

setting affinity should also help

it's a fucked up design of amd multicore cpus where each core has its own tsc (counter) and due to different power management crap they can get desynchronized
so if the process is switched to different core (which is usual), it gets a different value and if it uses it for some timing stuff, nasty stuff can happen

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

ahahahah your processor could be the lag anyway i used intel core i3 no lag and internet problems...
anyway about some fans
it could be your router or your computer fan
mostly computer with some stuck fans in the cpu it will not make the hot get out
so try to open it and look at some cables if there any cables that's stucking the fan
and lec can you publish your speedtest.net results? ? Here's Mine
2503033628.png
No Lag Over There big_smile
anyway check your cables to your router just improved it by searching tips on google
try to search on google about tips how to make a faster pc or internet.

It's not a temp. problem > 41°C is not overheated.

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

@lecter:

i had the same strange lags, before i cleaned my pc big_smile
the solution was a dusty ventilator, so dirty that he could not get out the heat -> cpu was overheating (~48-50° C)
now the temperature is around 40° (like assi said) and it's all fine.

other idea:
once i read somewhere that Battlefield 1942 cant handle multiple core prozessors that well, which CAN make troubles.
it was about weaker dual core cpu, that cant manage BF1942 on only one core. someting about timing/clocking difference...
but i only read it once, not sure if that's true.

Re: My day to day on SiMPLE - experience my reason to rant

Lec, if you want, install teamviewer or logmein, and i can connect and fix it for you, this is my job after all wink
btw, the computer on which i play right now, is brisbane core athlonx2 5600+ / 4gb ddr2(800), radeon 4850 and gigabyte ds3 770 chipset mobo, and i experienced the same problem all over , as you do, it must be our computer related, and i fixed it by doing s(sk) step 2 , a few months ago, well, not fixed , but it s a bit better, so , yes, AMD architecture sucks here
