Thank you. He will be banned.

#2942 Re: Technical Help » Massive disconnections at start of each round !? » 2012-11-24 21:12:29

At the end of each map, all clients make a new connection to the server, probably something (home router?) is preventing all those new connections. To troubleshoot it, you would need to run a traffic analysis to gameport 14567 with Wireshark, for instance.
I recommend you use a Linux BF1942 server, since s[sk] has made publicly available his patched Linux server files for v1.612. Linux has much better network support than Windows.

#2943 Re: Technical Help » Software firewall for Windows ? » 2012-11-23 01:58:13

PktFilter uses a different syntax than Iptables, too, so you can't directly import the rules. PktFilter doesn't have the recent module capabilty, which Iptables has, and much more module features. PktFilter and WIPFW will do the job for something as simple as blocking some IP addresses, if that's what you're looking for.

#2944 Re: Technical Help » Software firewall for Windows ? » 2012-11-23 01:25:19

No, the syntax is different. You can easily transfer the rules to WIPFW, if you read its documentation.

Errr... why do all political discussions have to turn out into clashes and insults? :
Come on, share your opinion, but respect the other's view, even if you strongly disagree.

#2946 Re: BF1942 Discussion » BF1942 Origin 11 MB patch ? » 2012-11-22 00:52:44

They haven't fixed it. It's still the same.

#2947 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin! » 2012-11-22 00:39:38

I don't know who had the "bright" idea of removing keyhashes from BF1942 servers, that makes admining impossible in v1.612. That's, in my opinion, the main reason for the players drop.

#2948 Re: BF1942 Discussion » BF1942 Origin 11 MB patch ? » 2012-11-22 00:36:20

They re not the same binaries, but I could not find any change in the server or in the client, yet.
Yes, updating replaces every changes you've made. I've removed the movies, and they were installed again with the update, settings were reset, too.

#2949 Re: BF1942 Discussion » BF1942 Origin 11 MB patch ? » 2012-11-21 19:59:24

Thanks for noticing it. Do you know what changed? Is there a changelog?
I've updated BF1942 Origin, BF1942.exe and BF1942_w32ded.exe were modified in 2012-11-14, but I didn't see any change. Server file remains unprotected to the exploits.

In version 1.612 keyhashes do show in game event logs (.xml files), so ranking system should work. I was wrong about IP addresses, they are not stored in game event logs.

#2951 Re: Technical Help » [SOLVED] BF1942 Windows server won't restart after crashes » 2012-11-20 23:44:30

Then, nevermind what I wrote. I thought you were using Vista or higher.

#2952 Re: Technical Help » [SOLVED] BF1942 Windows server won't restart after crashes » 2012-11-20 21:48:03

Have you found the solution? From Kansas1327's post you should try enabling XP compatibility in BFServerManager.

#2953 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FREE on Origin! » 2012-11-20 21:41:14

Tested Windows BF1942 server v1.612, server doesn't communicate with master.gamespy.com:29910 to check for keyhash validation, but keyhash is sent from the client to the server. They've disabled displaying the keyhash of the clients, in GameSpy queries and "game.listPlayers" command. I don't understand why they chose to do it, maybe to cripple the free server version. Anyway, it can probably be patched.

#2954 Re: Technical Help » I am having issues getting BF Server Manager 2.01 to work with Origin » 2012-11-20 21:22:27

Ok, then that's the probable solution to all having problems with BFServerManager and BF1942 v1.612.

#2955 Re: Feedback » El Alamein and Berlin CTF » 2012-11-20 15:38:12

Some little changes to El Alamein CTF map to avoid exppacking and mining the flags and counter the baseraping.

#2956 Re: Feedback » El Alamein and Berlin CTF » 2012-11-20 12:49:38

No. For today's map rotation is just after Coral Sea and Bocage map.

#2958 Re: Report Abuse » Player deliberate attacks » 2012-11-20 11:34:00

<TnS>Sigismund was teamkilling you and you had -5 score... sounds true to me.

#2959 Re: Technical Help » I am having issues getting BF Server Manager 2.01 to work with Origin » 2012-11-20 11:29:30

You're doing something wrong, I don't know what it is. Can you say what is your operating system and if you run any other program (firewall, antivirus) along?
Anyway, try to set up a BF1942 server v1.612 with no BFServerManager, start it from the DedicatedServer.exe, it's easier. If it all works correctly, then proceed from BFServerManager, unticking the box "Restart the server automatically" in Options.

Yeah, bored in base so he started shooting team mates.
You were banned for 1 day for teamkilling, poder gauchini.

you might want to put a server message that explains how to use the turbo-jeeps. noobies don't know about it and think that people are cheating when they see the flying jeeps.

or an admin command for example: !ctf = "use right or left click for jeep turbo"

Good idea, Ramjet. I guess an admin command will be better suited than a constant server message, as turbo jeeps are only used in El Alamein CTF map.

That can be easily tested with a Windows BF1942 server. If someone doesn't do it first, I'll test it tomorrow.

Nice find! Are the keyhashes unique for every player?
I find it funny, you need to block connection to master.gamespy.com:29910. smile

#2965 Re: Technical Help » Software firewall for Windows ? » 2012-11-20 00:03:41

Like nämeless wrote it, Windows has the "netsh" command. It's netsh advfirewall. you can find documentation for it.

#2966 Re: Technical Help » Can join just a few servers » 2012-11-20 00:01:15

Glad you made it. Always check your BF1942 version in the lower left corner in the game menu.

Useless software to "optimize" Windows registry, it won't improve your computer performance.

#2968 Re: Technical Help » Software firewall for Windows ? » 2012-11-18 13:31:36

PktFilter is similar to Iptables, but not as powerful. Another alternative is WIPFW. PktFilter and WIPFW have no graphical user interface (GUI), though.

Welcome, Sentinel. Please, get acquainted with the admin commands and try to be as fair as possible.
