I always use that. I have same problems like you guys too when i read all posts i click on Mark all topics as read and it works for me. Ofc if I don't, some posts remain "unread"

In the right almost bottom corner of the first page of forum you have an option "Mark all topics as read" and the problem is solved

It is better if you can play with the keyboard only. With keyboard you fly with absolute values like with joystick. Mouse is relative and it hops sometimes causing a miss. I use my mouse because i can't get my self use to keyboard only
And my sensitive is 100% I like it that way.
