I tried to install another OS but It seems intelligent men invented new superb things to prevent that. (some gpt efi w/e) So in the end it seems like I won´t get this game running anymore

Maybe that cameyo could work without taking up a lot of resources, havent tested it it myself so i dont know if it can emulate win xp surroundings
edit2: well that cameyo program seems to be needing a virtual machine for the process anyway.
Note: packaging has to be done on a clean virtual machine. Avoid packaging on your own machine or any machine which has other software & components installed on it. It is recommended to capture on an XP machine.

Yeah i suppose you are right, my thought was that he would see that its not a new problem with bf1942.
I think the absolute best would be to make a new bf1942 installation cd with all updated files in it, both server and client files.

lol i was thinking the same thing, i didnt buy bf4 and dont think i will buy any more bfgames if they gonna punt out them like they do now with hardly any diffrenece to them. Maybe if they make a bf1943 for pc but it have to be a damn good game or else im not giving them a cent.
The single player campaign is okey and worth playing i think, it also lags less then multiplayer if you have an older computer like i have.
I bought the game when it came but that was the last BF game for me unless they release a decent bf1943 for pc.

CVMTrace is crappy, CVMExternTrace doesn't seem to work, so I put 0 there
If i remember right one of the codes is for the artillery when they got a target spotted by sniper, propably thats the "trace" part in CVMExternTrace
Also this extra cameras break the soldiers weapon reload if you change to one of those cameras when reloading. That may be why they didnt use them in the finished game.

It does unfortunately. You have to lead the shots much further, i´ve been in dogfights where i had to lead so much the enemy plane actually got out of picture.

I challenged a player to 1vs1 on another server and went there but the guy didn't show
He propably just wanted to get rid of you for a while.
Maybe we should make some download with basic settings and write a how to guide, as most servers or vps is running linux its kinda hard to get it going if you are new to linux.
Took me some three or four days (and a lot of swearing) to get a server running when i started using linux, and then i still hadnt got the iptables right for the no key thing

Its the max fps setting, the higher the fps the shorter the time that messages stays on screen
It broke with some PHP upgrade, there is a fixed version but i dont know where to download it so you either have to wait and see if anyone can share or you have to use a lower PHP version.
And about joining directly via IP, it works without having to use the "multiplayer" button, just by creating a short-cut on your desktop and editing it.
Just to clear up things a bit, you can press multiplayer button no problem, when you do you get more alternatives and the one that hangs the game is the "update" button.
tuia wrote something about why and how in another thread, i think it was something like the game checks previously listed servers and have a timeout setting for 6 seconds for every server, so if so assumed, it would take aprox 6*259 seconds before the game starts to respond again.
However after pressing the multiplayer button there is a "add server" button you can use, there you can put in IP and Port and then choose join.

Yes for sure xfire is good, but where does it get its server info from? if it collect its data from gamespy servers then it dont do much good

We track every time someone joins your server via their Xfire client. Once enough Xfire users have joined your server we recognize it as a “good” server. Then it should be added to the “All” servers list.
We will send out a query every week to verify your server is still active.

i call it in admin commands list with the include command, but it could propably work from any .rfa to. it is in affect on the soldiers spawned so even if you change it mid game those soldier "pco" cant change team before they have died once.
origin adds players for sure but it can also be a lot of headache, to many new players wrecking havoc with the vehicles, shooting at everything they see, driving ships on ground. it would never work in a unmodded server especially not with friendly fire on.

Its a animation tuia, its starts playing when you touch the ground and last for about a second?, never really thought about it if it shows anything or if its just a delay for smoothing out ping differences a bit.
