What are the risks? Well... without https a so called "man in the middle attack" becomes quickly more fruitful.

You have to think about
1 your isp can see your forum activities
2 if you on public wifi it is awfully easy for someone to grab your account and activities
3 any party in between can more easy get your data

I have to say with this service its absolutely not needed to https anything. Except maybe your password AND if anyone in the simple team thinks or feels there is a hacker after them, in that case work with caution.

I wish we had expacks on berlin and some other maps.. it is kind of boring trying to be useful when u cant really snipe with engineer, u cant really take ur rifle and blast them back to their flag, cant lay a mine... just pistol your way to your next repair job that doesnt bring in the money or fame that an engineer also deserves

Did it help Pablo? Maybe you want to change the screen resolutions in the following config files to the one your laptop screen supports:

Windows drive c:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom\Video.con

From your log i see you need to go for 1366x786 (odd only the working resolution is lower? 1366x726, might try this one also)

But i advise you to set all the resolutions to

game.setGameDisplayMode 800 600 32 60

U can do this in all the VIDEO related files you can find in the MOD folder. Hope this helps!

Anyhow your laptop can EASY run this game... just some odd things with windows 10...

Another trick to pass by the loading screens (all 800x600 if ur device not support it you can join server directly with this, make sure in the settings CON files you have edit with notepad the correct resolution for your screen which is 1366x786)

In command line (run CMD)

BF1942.exe +restart 1 +joinServer 163.172.13.221:14567

(or right click on the shortcut icon on your desktop and add the joinserver option)

This is IP for simple server... which is your favorite to play on PABLO? This way also you not have to edit the hosts file.

Its crisp, quick and easy... throw it on an USB stick or SD card for testing...

Arch linux is for the PRO... my favorite distro is SLACKWARE though.

Its actually all u need to do here on Simple... just report... time/date/server and player nickname. Maybe a screenshot... thanks to the hard working admins here we still have a nice place to hang out and enjoy the game.
