#91 Re: Off-Topic » Windows 7 End of Support - January 14, 2020 » 2020-01-22 21:35:21

I'm currently installed Windows 10 (not activated yet) on a separate drive and doing some testing, and what I do not like was TOO MANY bloat appeared on Start Menu which to me was unnecessary like "Candy Crush", the persistent M$ ads like "Onedrive" cloud storage, and more importantly the Search Bar that ties to Bing despite i'm typing the name of file/s that I have to search it on my local storage yet it gives you online search results!!!

I'm gonna wait Ubuntu 20.04 to be released this April as it completely drop that Amazon Web App thing that holds me back to upgrade from 12.04.

Whether you like it or not, that's the decision of the server admin to include such assets on that map. Just take it or leave it.

If you want to play a some sort of realistic gameplay and historically accurate Battle of Britain, then play some mods like BG42, XWW2 or FH!

In vanilla Coop yes, but with modified .exe an a few edited .rfa files it can reach the maximum number of slots to 256!
http://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic. … 47#p143847

In instant Battle mode as pointed out by Apache Thunder from bfmods.com http://bfmods.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2121

Important! There was one thing I forgot about. (Thanks to Swaffy for discovering that there was an issue involving the vanilla maps)

Most of the vanilla maps has this code line in the SingleplayerAxis/SingleplayerAllied.con files (Skirmish Mode uses these con files to setup the tickets and load the objectspawns/CPs)

CODE: SELECT ALL
game.maxNrofPlayers 18

You'll need to go through any maps that use this and rem it out. Otherwise you won't notice any change in bot count even after installing the modified meme files and editing the AiDefault.con file!

Finally uploaded it to ModDB as previous tinyupload link are now broken:

As always, use WinRAR or 7zip (recommended) to extract the files, open the README file and follow the instructions.

They've chosen that route to sacrifice protection of their aircraft both the IJA and IJN in favor of longer combat range due to nature of expeditionary warfare the Japanese are dealing with.

The KamikazePlanes which they used to defend Okinawa had fabric wings and they runned with Alcohol, but just enough for one way smile

In the closing stage of the war, the situation at that time in Japan was very desperate as they had almost (some parts of China and the entire Korean peninsula was still in their possession before they've surrendered to Allied powers) losing access to raw materials like oil from the conquered territories which liberated later on by the Allies. Not to mention the lines of communication was already cutoff due to severe air and naval blockade and at the same time, the IJN was already ceased as an effective fighting force to the point that their remaining surface fleet had to be converted to static AA defense against Allied air raid within Japanese homeland.

The only problem with Google Drive is that it doesn't display the percentage and remaining time when you're downloading a file (this was particularly true while using Chrome), especially if the filesize was in gigabytes.

But for a smaller filesize, it wouldn't be a problem though.

#107 Re: Technical Help » Need help with tank treads » 2019-07-28 19:38:52

Maybe in Google Drive, Mediafire or much better upload it in Battlefield 1942's File section on ModDB.

#109 Re: Technical Help » [Windows 7/64-bit] BF1942.exe takes longer to run » 2019-06-21 01:27:09

Luckily, I've already found out the solution for my problem:
http://ubeogesh-things.blogspot.com/201 … r-aka.html
CTTO

Just run the .bat file and it'll rename the gameux.dll from "windows\SysWOW64\" or "windows\System32\" folder (for those had 32-bit Windows 7 OS).

Now I am able to start BF1942.exe instantly!

Yes, and it also restore the GameUX everytime you disable it from command line.

Again, the entire Battlefield 1942 was excluded. It's just the BF1942.exe are the main problem.

And I was able to do debugging work as betatester for a mod while running the BF1942_r.exe without problems.

#111 Re: Technical Help » [Windows 7/64-bit] BF1942.exe takes longer to run » 2019-06-20 22:23:06

Yes, I've already done all those three that you suggested.

However, none of them worked and the problem still occurs, and re-installing Bf1942 or even re-installing Windows are out of the question because I've already done that last year at the expense of losing all of my data on my Linux partition while encountering the same problem on Windows.

I was able to play Battlefield 1942 pretty well (except some occasional CTD when loading/changing maps which typical bug on running this game beyond Windows XP) on Windows 7 until recently. But suddenly, the game just takes longer to run to the point I have to kill the process in Task Manager, and when I tried to run the .exe again and check both Task Manager and Process Explorer I saw the memory usage of BF1942.exe was just 2.1 megabytes instead of just within 40+ megabytes with 0% of CPU usage. Meanwhile the rundll32.exe *32 takes CPU usage within 30 to almost 100% with 90+ megabytes of memory usage.

Other games are fine, even the debugger executable for Bf1942 (i.e. BF1942_r.exe) are immediately execute the program without any slowdown.

I have tried to rename the .exe and although it opens up, this will also problematic later on especially while playing online as it always wanted to find the "BF1942.exe" from the main Battlefield 1942 folder when changing maps.

Does anybody had encountering this issue?

Cinderella Express by Yumi Matsutoya from her 1985 album "DA・DI・DA"

The song also served as a jingle for Central Japan Railway Company's "Cinderella Express" service TV commercials from 1987 (the same year when state-owned Japan National Railways was split up into seven private entities) and 1992. This commercial was from the latter featuring Megumi Yokohama:

Have you check the file integrity of both FHSW installers?

Use HashMyFiles to see if the file hashes (e.g MD5 hash) were the same as where you download those files, for example ModDB.

AFAIK, the majority of Linux distros (primarily Ubuntu) are ditching out 32-bit OS starting 18.04. I'm still using Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise pangolin) as my secondary OS, but I can't upgrade any further due to problem regarding PulseAudio.
