Reason 1) gives Allies a built in strategic bonus.
Reason 2) gives Allies who know about it a tactical advantage.
Reason 3) gives Allies a tactical advantage that converts into a strategic advantage.

I am all in favor Tank Ladder especially if it's 1vs1 and 2vs2. I actually think it would present some interesting propositions. For example the winner of the 1vs1 automatically goes through to the 2vs2 ladder and may end up being paired with the player they beat in the 1vs1, and such like inevitable quirks that always throw themselves up in competitions. I do think it wrong to try and ressurect BFLeague since there really is only 2 BF1942 servers thesedays and Team Simple is one of those. Team Simple is also the only server that runs a constant dedicated Aberdeen Tank map. So it makes more sense to create that competition internally from Team Simple forum members who all have something to say and I don't doubt their tanking ability even if they are not names I recognize as regulars on Aberdeen. It also means players involved cannot use aliases and hide under assumed identities for whatever reason that might be. As someone else has already pointed out over a year ago Tuia made a thread post inviting this very thing within Team Simple, it generated interest (I note from the usual responders to this subject), then went cold. Maybe it's time to dig that old post up and revive it and create an in house Team Simple rolling competition with with year end results.

Well I have just noticed Simple Tanks a Lot Aberdeen server seems to have been adjusted so that only 1 point is awarded for a flag capture. Whoever did it thank you. This should make Tanks a Lot Aberdeen a bit more interesting. As for other maps that are not tank vs tank based like Aberdeen is, can this or should it be implemented and to what degree? I play almost exclusively Aberdeen since the map existed, so my opinion on changes to the points/flags system of infantry maps may not be as valid as some of you out there who are infantry veterans. I do like {Phantom}'s mention of BF Vietnam awarding 1 point for greying a flag and a further point for capture. It's a shame it's not an option on BF1942 as that would make for more dynamics for specific maps. Any thoughts on other maps seeing similar changes?

I didn't realize that (Phantom), it's more equitable. Any modders out there know if this can be done with BF1942?
