mate, ill have a look very soon, and i do thank u for your reply. done all the norm stuff, firewalls /ports it shows on game tracker and some other lists, just not the main, lol
it shows in main list if i add it, but not , if i dont add.
ip is 159.196.188.2: 14567

correct mate he did, i used it, but server only showing on game tracker and some others, so its getting out there, just not to the main in game list.
it will only show in game list, if i add server.

Everyone can join 1.612. Its the same as 1.61 except that is has some fan-fixes.
In the end its just a 'name' 1.61 can also have those fixes without the version showing differentTo avoid confusion: There are mods and there are small modifications.
Mods are the entire packages which I send you (Desert Combat etc)
Small modifications are the changes to a map like; other bot-names and extra tanks. For that you should be a decent 'modder' to pull that off. Here is a website showing how to do that:

oh ive done lots of modding the old 42 demo, changed many things, made destroyer belong to american side, replaced landing craft with zeros, and even a transporter, using a flag, e to enter, and para down into a different spot.. moved different vehicles around, added more..
thats when the hackers were at it. flooding / dos attacks / map hacking the list went on.
dont know if i have the patience to sit down and do it again. lol..
but great being here, a wealth of info..

well, this is confusing.. re did server, and all settings ok, didn't show in server list. i fired up the laptop, and used a different net ( diff ip) have bf42 on that, and yet server shows in that.
i doubled checked, seems it shows maybe cause i added it in .
im applying the patches, and even spoke to the ISP, no ports blocked, and static ip in place.
firewall exceptions / rules in
starting to give me more grey hairs..
just in case i have downloaded a bad copy of server, is there any chance you can point me to where i can download a good copy of server and game
lots of copies of 42 out there, could be that maybe.
if i get a good server and game, ill try that.

hey again, sry to bother u. i see other servers have 1.61 when i use the patch, it turns my server into 1.612 is that ok, will it allow other to join ??
just a bit curious to see others using 1.61
not sure if others can join ?? server can be seen, and i can use a laptop, with a different net (ip) and the server shows and i can join.
thought i was doing something wrong ?? Battlefield 1942 v1.612 Windows server patched " Also all players using disc-based v1.61
or v1.6 can join the server. "

just on the modding side, i used to have to sit down and crunch all those numbers and so on, one by one. changing and adding mods.
i was wondering is it still the same way for modding, or is there mods you can add to the basic server as is ? been some years since i sat down to do all that. i had seen some patch like add ons, not sure now if you just go and into the files, myself, or copy and paste the newer mods.
just wanted some extra planes, tanks and such, added to the game. tried changing one of the bots names, rfa file, and screwed the whole server up, lol. it did not like it at all, spice up the game a bit..

MATE, YOUR A GEM. outstanding help. all good now.. will add mods in soon, i remember having to do them with the 42 demo servers, way back in 2004 - 2005 and on till now. great game, so pleased its back. and my thanks to you again.

mate, it worked.. server now showing on main list.. wow. thought i had replaced that exe with patch.
guess not.
but all good, server now showing in all trackers and list.
my many huge thanks to you for your help.
now i have to find some mods, to add into the server.. dont know of any good spots to get them ??
try to spice the server up a bit..

such a great game.. i remember from running a demo wake server years ago, same thing gave me a headache, lol..
sorting out ips, dmz and so on.

hi all, just a question, i have a server going, bf42. i can add the server to gametracker, and i can also add the server ip, to add game and join.
but i cannot get the server to show, in the main game server list.
stuck on this one, maybe the server list patch ? not sure.
any help would be gratefully appreciated. i can join the server using a different laptop, and different net, but only if i add and join.
server does not show in main list. server ip is, 192.168.0.197 and main ip is 159.196.188.2
if im on the same network as teh server it shows, but using a different net (ip) i cannot see it.
once again, any help would be great.

As the Replacement Master Server went down and was replaced. Servers had to patch to redirect to that. This thread offers Linux and Windows patches for servers.
all good mate, found out the static ip is not working, and the isp wont provide one on 4G wireless.
shame.. all ports are forward, and ip sorted. only thing stopping me, is the static ip.

hi again to all..
just wanted to find out if there is a DEDICATED SERVER COMPLETE.
i have tried to run a ded server for 42, but no go.. ports are in, and wont let anyone join.
i dont know if im using the right server with the mods and stuff.
is there anywhere you can download the dedicated server complete ?
used to run a bf42 demo server for years, but this one is giving me some trouble.
any help would be greatly appreciated.. cheers.. Grrr
