#31 Re: BF1942 Discussion » When was the first time you played Battlefield 1942? » 2013-04-24 19:20:08

i remember very well the day i first played battlefield. i was a punker back then smile and was sitting with a girl (good friend ) playing backgammon outside in the front of our apartment building and she tells me she has this new boyfriend, heavy metalist, and he is like into computergames and computer stuff and i had a computer but no internet and no idea how to use it. so i was like get him here to bring us computer games lol. the dude came and brought me 2 cd with Battlefield 1942. he installed it because i had no idea what crack means back then. it was my second game played, first being doom 3. it was back in 2003. i played it for 2-3 years i guess, not on the internet. then i rediscovered this game last year and since then i am playing right here, on SiMPLE.

Hello all!

I am experiencing some problems with the resolution of the game. I have a narrow screen with black lines on the margins in the game and the writing and the figures in the minimap look funny (funny=annoying in this case) If i set the resolution in game higher (1024 bla bla) it doesnt make any difference. Could somebody, for Gods sake help me? My screen resolution is 1366x768x32X60. This problem occurred suddenly after i made a windows 7 bootable usb memory stick. I want my fullscreen back sad

Thank you

Thank you syndrum, i am using this addon for 3 years i think, vladimir palant did a great job. mozilla rules! also cooliris is neat for viewing pictures. i also recommend stopzilla for malware or emsisoft anti malware. noscript is also a good addon for mozilla but is a little more complicated then adblock. Cheerio!

#46 Re: Off-Topic » Smoking - stress » 2013-03-19 06:47:52

I hope Lec doesnt mind our off topic here...so, the difference between now and when i was 26 in nutrition is that back then i used to eat fried stuff. french fries, fried fish, fried chicken and lots of fast food ( especially shaworma---this is really a caloric bomb) and drink carbonated drinks, like cola and mountain dew(man i loved mountain dew). i ate a lot. for instance, if now i choose to eat a portion of rice with vegetables and a grilled chicken drumstick, back then it was a big portion of french fries with a 2 fried chicken drumsticks, white bread and sourcream smile))
@dary: i know that what we eat from my grandparents is organic-they use chicken and cow manure for tomatoes, green peppers and the other vegetables found in the garden (although the grapes are sprayed with copper sulphate when they are young but thats really not a problem). the field plants that are for sale (wheat, barley, corn and sunflower) are not organic because here in romania, unfortunatelly, its about quantity and not about quality...Oh yes and the cow eats only grass in summer and organic corn plants in winter. Also, the sheeps are send with the shepperd in summer and in winter we keep them in the stables.

well lecter, thats my size too smile 1,76 and 68 kg smile keep up the good work!!! i'm sure you will succeed !
yes dary, u are correct, these days the foods are processed and its bad for health. I'm lucky that part of my relatives are farmers and i get natural foods from them like chickens, eggs, pork, tomatoes, corn flour, cabbage, beans even milk from our cow smile) etc etc...
PS: dont worry, i dont get easily offended, its just part of the debate here tongue

#48 Re: Off-Topic » Smoking - stress » 2013-03-18 15:16:29

First of all its a matter of choice. I choosed to smoke again not because i got fat, but because it was my option to do so. like all nonsmokers choose not to smoke i choosed to smoke. The fact that i got fat during that time was an true observation and not all the guys that quit have to gain weight. there are some studies suggesting that a cigarette boosts up your metabolism by increasing the hart rate. I really dont think its a connection between quitting smoking and gaining fat, BUT it happens to most of the guys that quit. The reason that i've choosen dunhill white its because its easier on my throat. As i mentioned i smoked only lucky strike red for 10 years 1 pack or more per day. After my 1 and a half years pause my throat didnt like the feeling of red (king size) cigarettes. BTW: here in romania marlboro red is shitty.
for dary: my dear friend, i dont know who eats and drinks shit, but thats not me. My actual job enables me to have enough workout. trust me. and that american spirit not only that its not available in my country, but if it would be, it would be pretty expensive. i remember smoking american spirit in california last year and it costed 10-11 dolars.

hi guys! Lecter i totally understand the way you feel. I started smoking when i was 15 and continued till about 25 when I  quited smoking and it lasted for 1 and a half years. in that time i got fat. like really fat. I smoked only lucky strike. after that i dont know why but i started to smoke again, but now im smoking dunhill blonde blend( its extra light if that counts). I totally support you and i know what it feels to want a cigarette. Good luck!

#50 Re: BF1942 Discussion » Battlefield 1942 FAQ » 2013-03-11 23:35:02

now that u got me started tongue taken into consideration that the earth has an ellipsoid shape, the gravity, the friction of the air, the parabolic trajectory thus the angle of fall and many other factors its pretty impossible to hit something dead on at a 90 degree angle. in nature we rarely meet a 90 degree, except some crystals (pyrite, halite, galena, some feldspar and others)

i think you are forgetting the angle of the armour.

#53 Re: BF1942 Discussion » What's your favourite weapon(s) in BF1942? Pros and cons » 2013-02-21 07:22:37

well guys i think i will stick with the sniper rifle (when everything is okay with the team and i feel lazy:) ) but when its time for rumble i like the DP and PanzerIV. The DP does tons of damage but when u run and shoot u hit anything but the person you are aiming at and the PanzerIV its effective against infantry and most of the other tanks although its slower than the sherman (i think) but i feel more comfortable with the trajectory of the projectile than with any other armoured vehicle.

I think we confuse the communist ideology(and all of its crimes) with the russian people and thats a mistake.I have worked with russian people and they are ok.They are friendly and will be happy to share what they have best. They can keep a promise and are straightforward, but sometimes are stubborn (that can be a positive thing too)
