Since the family 10h (Barcelona/Phenom), AMD chips feature a constant TSC, which can be driven either by the HyperTransport speed or the highest P state.

so phenom should be ok

setting affinity should also help

it's a fucked up design of amd multicore cpus where each core has its own tsc (counter) and due to different power management crap they can get desynchronized
so if the process is switched to different core (which is usual), it gets a different value and if it uses it for some timing stuff, nasty stuff can happen

hm, i think x2  has tsc drift problems

try to disable cool'n'quiet in bios if you can find it there, maybe install this aswell
