I would agree with one "but" - Black death happened exactly about that "many years ago" period of time when people were fewer on Earth than now.

The situation with this Chinese virus explosive spread reminds me of Chernobyl.
China is just like another USSR.
When Chernobyl happened, all firemen who were sent in first waves of liquidators were told nothing about what are they going to fight with.
Media was silent.
Only when the radiation cloud spread further to Europe and western media started talking about it then first information appeared about some catastrophiy in USSR happened.
On the other hand I don't want to make some conspiracy theory.
I just don't trust things people say that easy.

Not that I underestimate the situation but doesn't it look weird to you that people in Asia are used to eat snakes, bats, dogs etc., etc. for years, for hundreds of years from a generation to a generation and only now this rare case of the virus spread from animals to humans appeared?
