Syndrum, don't forget to buy the cooling system! A liquid one or some mechanical ventilators is a must. Noone uses stock processor coolers because the lack efficiency at high output. So If you chose mechanical you need at least 3 of them. One at entrance of PC case, one at backpanel exit and one for processor.

Been in the IT game for nearly 30 years the above is total nonsense.
By all means use stock cooling if you wish but your processor will get hot and won't last you as long as it could and your stock cooling will be as noisy as hell but don't take my word for it try it and see.
It will also heat the components surrounding you CPU more heat = more current less efficient.

Why on earth do you think the fastest CPU that has ever been produced is super cooled, by liquid nitrogen I believe.

I would seriously up your PSU, its the heart of any system and under specifying it will cost you dearly in the long run.

I run an AMD 8 core Bulldozer and have had no issues with heat at all provided you spend a bit of money on decent cooling you wont either, it seriously craps all over the i5 and i7.
