2 team spots left.
Hi all, just wanted to give a quick update.
We've got one team officially registered and we are still looking for 3 more teams or 6 more individual registrations to start the event, which if everything goes well should start on July 29th, 2023.
If you want to join this competition, join the Discord link in the first post of this thread.
What's the deal with some objects disappearing before the fog? Sometimes when i'm flying, things like tanks, planes and AA guns vanish before they reach fog.

Aside from d3d8to9, you have to use DXVK alongside it to be recognized by the GPU for recording DirectX 8 games:
https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvkJust copy the d3d9.dll from the DXVK's x86 folder and drop it inside Battlefield 1942 main directory where the .exe is located.
I have the d3d9.DLL file in my main folder, but it still doesn’t work. Is there an additional file I need, like that d3d8tod9?
Yes.
The only caveat of d3d8to9's d3d8.dll + d3d9.dll from DXVK combo is the switching (i.e. Alt + Tab) to desktop was kinda wonky (for now) in BF1942.
If you get stuck in the main desktop, just clicking the BF1942 in the taskbar to resume gameplay.
Can you send me/ link that d3tod8 file please ?

We will start with 4 teams instead of 8.

K88 is using what I would call a bug jump. He does it all the time.
Lately, even the most persistent buggers have almost stopped their buggings, but 88 seems to continue.
I have my own view on whether jumping like this should be permitted or not.
But, now I ask; after all that’s been said and done about inf-bugging in this community ......
Is exploiting this kind of non-standard jump, constantly, to get an advantage, officially allowed in Simple in 2023?

This is your first post after your 3 days ban? What is wrong with u?
Did he killed you and u got no medal or what?Is my double jump for going to the train top at Stalingrad also not allowed or what?
Forget it Flasche, I don’t think BFSoldier knows or is interested in the reason why this double jump is used in Stalingrad.
BFSoldier: From what I can see in your video the hit reg marker seems to be working well even when Killer88 is in mid air. I don’t encourage using this jump though because when the player lands there is a small hit reg delay (almost impossible to see, you have to be an experimented infantry to notice it).
However double jumping is necessary for certain situations like Flasche said. If you ever did a real 1v1, when playing on the Allied side aka the stronger side you can double jump to get on top of the train wagon to shoot your opponent as he goes to the middle flag from his HQ.
Hi guys, if anyone would like to join this event, just like with the BF1942 World Cup everything will be handled through Discord. You can join the Discord for the cup here: https://discord.gg/qescbraNET
Be advised that if we don't get a full turnout by mid-July, the event will be postponed to the beginning of fall 2023.
Sometimes Shadowplay on my laptop suddenly stops recognizing DirectX 8/9 games, and the only thing that fixes it is resaving custom settings for them in Nvidia Control Panel. These settings work for me

Something like this. I use Linux and the settings may vary a bit, so you can test available for you options to see the difference.
Thanks.
Black Mamba wrote:petr8 wrote:Why don't you just try OBS Studio, it's a free and very powerful software for recording
I have OBS studio, but unfortunately the quality of the recordings does not come close to Shadowplay. Also, frame drops due to recording are more important in OBS.

I did both of these things to no avail.

Also remember when you enable desktop recording mode, it's a advisable you are running the latest community version of bf1942 to make sure your main menu screen is actually running in your desired resolution.
Because bf1942 by default the main menu would be running in 800 by 600.
Which can screw up your recordings but it's no longer an issue with you have the latest
community installed bf1942.exe since this supports higher resolutions.Thank you for making the video.
When I open GeForce Experience and navigate to the settings, I don't see any icon with a padlock on it (privacy settings). What should I do then?
Maybe I have an older version or newer version of NVIDIA experience, I don't know which one would be true in this case for me.
Obviously they made some changes in the settings panel.
Because for me it has always been in that location and it has never been removed.
But then again even though I update my drivers I never actually navigate to the settings in all this time so things could have changed in the newer or older versions so that's why they are different for you maybe.So the only thing I can do is check for version difference this is currently the version I am running of NVIDIA experience, see screenshot. I am on version 3.27.0.112
https://i.ibb.co/bBRLBZD/my-version.jpg
I did turn on experimental features but I don't think that is necessary for recording but I don't know for sure to be honest.
You can find this in the general options I think it's front page.( edit ok I just did a quick Google search for when it's not available as a option
I found this video maybe you have multiple monitors ?
https://youtu.be/H1w2Znf_oq8so this all above I just wrote might not mean anything. )
I am using the same version as you. I read something about HDMI ports and monitors, so idk. This is very strange. I’ll keep looking.
@BFSoldier: Settle your problems privately, this isn’t the place for it.

Hi Moss. What happened to your computer? Better find one before fall so you can join this tournament ![]()
what does your shadow play record, when you start recording?
It doesn’t record anything. It says the game isn’t recognized.
Information regarding the upcoming league season
The upcoming Golden Gun League season will be hosted in the Battlefield 1942™ first-person shooter video game. Here is some key info regarding the format of the and other details:
- The competition will start in the late fall of 2023;
- The format of the competition will be 8v8 Conquest;
- The competition will be hosted in servers located in Europe and North America;
- A 50-50 rule will be enforced at the discretion of opposing team leaders. The 50-50 rule is like a home and away match system. For teams located in different continents, the 50-50 rule will be mandatory: one map will have to be played in a North American server and the other, in an European one;
A match will consist of two maps (or the same map if it is picked by both teams). On each map, two rounds will be played, for a total of four rounds in a match;
Each match round will last 20 minutes. Victories will be determined by total ticket count;
- The competition is labelled as a world cup, but players can choose to compete in national squads or form teams composed of players from different countries within the same continent;
- The competition will consist of two stages:
A league stage, which will last a minimum of 14 weeks;
A double-elimination knockout stage where the two last teams of the league are eliminated after the final match week and the rest of the teams compete. More information on the specific rules of this stage will emerge once the league stage is finished;
-A minimum of 8 teams will compete in the league;
- The map pool will include a large selection of Battlefield 1942™ stock maps;
- When possible, league matches will be casted to Twitch via the official channel of the Golden Gun League;
- Team and player registration will be handled uniquely via Discord. As an exception, we will accept registrations through the SiMPLE forums as well

See you on the Battlefield,
The BF1942 World Cup Team
I don't think that should be an issue, BF1942 CD version or torrent version is basically the same. Have you tested running Shadowplay software with adminstrator rights?
That is the first thing I did. I’m going to experiment with certain settings and see what happens. Thanks for your help guys.
Dont need any extra .dll's
My shadow play works absolutley fine when recording an entire screen.
BF1942.exe is the CD version, and runs at administrator
vanilla install, but cant speak for any other player.
That’s probably the issue here, you have the CD version of the game, I don’t, and so your game gets recognized by Shadowplay while mine doesn’t.
Try this https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9/releases
Place d3d8.dll in main game folder
I’ve placed this DLL in my game folder but it still doesn’t work.
I've tried to make Shadowplay record my BF1942 gameplay but each time I try get an error from the Shadowplay overplay telling me the game is not recognized.
I tested Shadowplay in another game, FEAR, and it works fine there.
Here are my specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
Driver version 536.23 (drivers are up to date as of the time of writing this message)
CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K
RAM: 63.78 GB
Monitor: 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz
OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.22621 Build 22621 (updates are up to date)
The game version I am using is SiMPLE's HD version. I get a feeling that the game isn't recognized in the Registry properly and that is the reason why Shadowplay can't recognize it.
Other game recorders like OBS work fine, regardless of the BF1942 version.
If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know.
