Top tip - You can fart in-game.

Fly up as high as possible, bail and free fall, don't pull your chute. After a few seconds your character will scream, wait another few seconds and he will fart.

Occasionally when the carrier is moving and you're jumping around it can get buggy - the sound effects of free falling can kick in. If it lasts for long enough you will also hear the fart.

I've noticed now, your BF1942.exe has unlocked the resolutions in the Video Display Mode box, it's probably due to those NOPs at 0x002B0909 offset. smile Well done! It's a great release, finally BF1942 was hacked to support for true widescreen resolution without having to edit Video.con, setting it read-only and having to adjust field of view, the horizontal stretch solution described here: http://www.widescreengaming.net/wiki/Battlefield_1942.

In terms of the final in game visual result, does this modified exe file produce anything different from manually editing the video.con file?

I've manually edited the files to get 1920x1080 and changed field of view to 1.333. Initially I found this quite funky to play with, particularly flying...bombing was really strange. I've got used to it now but if i was bad at bombing before i'm hopeless now.

Have you tried a combination of both the mouse and keyboard?

I rebind the space bar so it also acts as "pull up", that way i don't constantly have to pull at the mouse in dogfights. Use the mouse to turn and fine tune pulling up/down. Cockpit look round is also easy this way.

im curious, after an mate kill me, how long remain my ability to forgive tk and retrieve 3 losted points to him? is this ability have someth like 'time to live'?
Nameles said he cheked and 'ftk' does not work

I'm not absolutey sure but you only forgive the time penalty for the next respawn, your mate will still lose the points.

The time you have to forgive him is however long he stays alive, as when he dies he'll get the spawn time penalty applied.

sometimes i've always crashed when there's was a small thing that is annoying mah plane.

Just fly straight into the hangar at full speed. Smack into the back wall, turn around and fly out.

Planes are invunerable to the hangar so you will not blow up on impact, maybe just bounce around a bit if you're not gentle wink

Incorrect, many noobs die in hangar, even noob-pilots like me sad

Musen you must have tried it with a B17 tongue

Anyway, if anyone is in doubt try it for yourselves wink

Team kills are punished by default in the server settings. As was writen before, if you wish to forgive a team-kill, type in the console "ftk" 32, where 32 is the player ID.

Ok didn't realise you had to specify a player number, thought it would be just a blanket teamkill forgive.

Still, it's a shame this isn't mainstream knowledge...would be cool to see standard server messages in game, specially for newcomers smile

Hey guys,

Does typing FTK (Forgive team kill) or PTK (Punish teamkill) on the console work on the server? I seem to get the impression they don't.

If they do it would be great if FTK in particular could become more mainstream knowledge, say via the standard server messages?

We all get TK'd accidentally and it's a shame to make the guy wait out the 40+ seconds for something that was either a genuine mistake or even your fault, like mid air collisions or running in front of someones tank...

Thanks for the replies guys. Tried the no-cd (not necessarily dary's exact version), which worked but would tell me "Data differs from server" when i tried to join the simple server.

I restored the exe and dll's and have just used a virtual drive, mounting my cd image using CloneCD and it works fine.

Cheers

Hey guys,

I know they weren't back in the day, but are no-CD's legal nowadays? annoying waiting for the CD reader to fire up every time a map loads...

Cheers
