Hey Mamba, I followed those steps for the EssenBuilding06_M1 and the BG_Italiantower, and they still refuse to show up. Is it a matter of compatibility settings being off/on for parts of the process?

The files that are referenced that don’t appear are because I didn’t use them after all, that’s just a one objects.con fits all lol.
As for the Essen files I have them in my main game directories, and they’ve worked in the past. I do want the bf tower.
I have set the alternate texture path but it always gets overwritten because next time I unpack the map to tweak anything in the actual files, it’s never there.

Yeah if you can, can you unpack the RFA and tell me why that EssenBuilding isn't appearing?
Note: I may it have it in the map itself but my game's main directories.

Thanks. I’ll keep that for pickup kits. The issues I had were missing .ske files. I have since fixed that issue. Now I just have issues with flags not showing up.

this is the link for the file for my map.

It's still in earl-mid dev so it's quite rough. I am missing one of the buildings on the German side of the river, in the large town. It's an EssenBuilding.

Hi so here are the steps I follow to add things from mods or xpacks to my maps such as buildings:
Can anyone critique my method and/or tell me what might be going wrong with my bc42 talking to bf42 because more of ten than not these objects won't appear ingame.
I create a addmodel folder with the necessary directories
Objects
StandardMesh
Texture
if a vehicle is involved I use the appropriate sound, ai etc.
I then extract the objects such as EssenBuilding01
The standard Meshes for it EssenBuilding01_m1.rs and EssenBuilding01_m1.sm
Textures found in the .rs file
I put everything in the right directory and create an objects.con with the "run  EssenBuilding01_m1/ EssenBuilding01_m1" command pointing to the  EssenBuilding01_m1.con which has "run objects" "run geometries" in it.
I either use the add file to archive in bc42 or just copy and paste the folders into my map, either has worked in the past.
But now the EssenBuilding objects and many others just will not work or appear ingame. What's going wrong?

the structures of the folders are correct I think:
Objects/Objects.con
then Objects/"Whatever object folder/Objectname.con and whatever other files are in there like ai sounds etc.
StandardMesh
Texture

AND in the Init.con there is the line "run Objects/Objects"
and alternatepath ...bf1942/levels/Mymap/Texture

Hey folks, I'm having an issue that never happened before. Structures I am adding to my map, such as the essen buildings, are not appearing in the actual level after adding to bc42.
I've done all the add file to archive  -> unpack  -> edit the init.con -> repack -> etc. and nothing works. Certain other structures like from bf1918, BG42, such as the italy tower and arch (tor) building do however work,  just not the essen or other SW/RtR stuff.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey I got this error on the last line in the debugger:

BFMultiPlayer\ServerGameLogic.cpp(1167): Error: BFMultiPlayer: failed to spawn player

The error is produced when trying to spawn as the Allies on my map. Also the icon for the side with the tickets is a white box.
There are no other debugger pop ups when loading, and the Axis side works just fine.

Any ideas?

Hey folks this is a new one for me. I saw that you can see what fatal error is happening to kill your map if you boot in windowed mode. I’m trying to add the French from the RtR dlc to a map and it actually loads into the map, but when I go to spawn with the French kits, I get an error saying “failed to spawn player.”

Any ideas or help?

Still leave run as admin and disable fullscreen optimizations though? I’ll try it thanks.

Hey folks so I have an odd issue with bc42. Whenever I go to create an object spawn it only lets me select an object for one team, the other doesn't respond to clicking, and it only shows a purple box on the editor map, and nothing in game.

So step by step
I clink the create object spawner
I name it Machinegun_Stationary1
Select the mg42 for team 1 and click ok.
The screen freezes on the blue background with mg42 there and the dialogue box comes back but the team 2 option doesn't respond to input.

If I move on to try and place the object is shows a purple box akin to the soldier spawn object.
Nothing appears in game.

I have had this issue only once on my other pc, and it's always here on this one. Does anybody have an idea on what that issue could be?

Hi folks, I'm trying to make an iso from my cd copy of bf1942 so I can use the debug tool. However, the program doesn't recognize that I have a disc in and won't let me do it. Can you help me and/or give me a copy of a 1942 iso? Cheers! -- Fuzzy

Hi folks, I am having an issue with bc42 that is not allowing object spawn templates to be created.
I select the object (bf109 or any other vehicle) for the axis team and it selects but freezes the background and does not allow me to select an allies team object. I have never had this issue before with bc42, is there a way around this or have I got a totally messed up version of bc42? I have tried uninstall and reinstall multiple times, and everything in the .cfg and .lst files are pointed where they need to be.

Thanks for any help or answers.
