hi all,  just asking about running two 42 servers on same pc, which i can do.  but, and there's always a but, lol

i can run 2 servers no issues, but gametracker keeps wiping the scores for players. im guessing its picking up the same key or something.

same ip, using  14567 and 14568   servers show easy, but after a scan from gametracker it takes the scores. 

would love to run 3 or servers, lots of bandwidth this way..  but would like to see the scores stay..

any help would be much appreciated..

hi again, just trolling through, looking at heath  repair to the planes at airstrip. found the  ammo supply commands, for airfield, but i  was looking at letting the planes not only re-arm, but health repair too.

having some issue finding the ones  to extent the radius for repair.

did search, not much info on it..   staticobjects for ammo boxes, but hard to find radius...

mate, thank you for that.  ill run it in another server soon. im seeing alot of mods that were used in the demo  ( wake)

i started modding around 2005. lots of patches made, dos flooding attack patches etc...  im too used to the demo modding, so much easier, lol.

this  42 full game  is a endless sea of maps and mods.  i had submarine tanks, teleporters, APC ejector seats  whole heap of goodies. so much fun.  great people to.

i run my maps using COOP, much more fun with bots, but at the same time, would love to use all the kit, subs and the such in conquest maps. henk gave me the coding for bots in conquest, but i must be doing something wrong, lol

ill keep at it..   noticing too, the lack of players.  all over.   shame really.

i just found out, that i cannot run two servers on the same pc, because it wipes out gametracker stats on players..  wont be doing that again.. smile

server was down to 19, and i ran the second server from same pc, wiped out the scores and pushed it back to 100..

so much different to modding the demo, basic stuff is still teh same.

i get to the point of modding all day, till i start to make mistakes, then i give it a rest..

having bots in game is fun.. i opened up with 64 slots, and just 24 bots..  to run conquest, with no bots, and due to lack of players.. bit boring.

but ill look at those mods sir, and run them later for sure smile

thank you..  ill try the coding, see how it goes.  very much appreciated.  if no go, ill stick with the COOP maps. 

you would think, that bots can fly around bombers, it would be not much different with a sub.

from what i see and read.. its says there's no AI for the bots in conquest. 

went to add coding for subs, in Midway COOP, and it shut the server down.

something about no AI, for bots to use the sub. no coding for them to use it if they get in it.

would have been easy to mod the Conquest folder, instead of the COOP folder.

im using all COOP  maps to mod.  prefer to have bots in game..

just wanted to say,thank you to all that helped, with my questions. all good now. mods working fine, server running great. im using COOP maps as a base for all maps, just wondering if  you can add bots into the say,  midway conquest map ?

to use the conquest maps would be better, if i could add bots. ill have a play around, see if i can put them in.  that way, all the kit will be on there, including subs. just add bots smile

i go to put the sub details into the COOP map, doesn't like it at all..

bots in the conquest map would be great..

one last thing, please..   using the ~  while in game, to see the coordinates of the items in the game, position height and so on, is there a command to get that to show, ive forgotten it.


used to locate and put in different kit.  vehicles / soldiers kit. and so on.

followed your advise, and found the COOP maps are controlled through the single player..  modded two maps already.

working fine, my thanks again. so now its just sitting down and adjusting the maps.

hey, thanks for your time.. did all that,  used battleaxe  ctf

changed the spawn times, that works.  used it on the tiger tanks, moved one, and another  other tiger tank appeared. once i blew the tank up, another showed straight away. but it has to be blown up. wont show, after been taken from spot.

  so got the spawn timing down.  smile

but i know there is code there for once one tank is gone, another will appear straight away.   i mainly use the COOP maps, with bots.

not sure which folder i go to to adjust the stuff in there for COOP.   almost got enough info to go forward alot more.

just that COOP folder..    the code

" in conquest/ObjectSpawnTemplates.con
or ctf/ObjectSpawnTemplates.con
or other game-modes

set the spawn time to 0:
ObjectTemplate.MinSpawnDelay 0
ObjectTemplate.MaxSpawnDelay 0

worked great, just once one is moved, another wont show

and i shoved this in too.

and set the number very high (maybe -1 will also work, which means unlimited in some cases)
objectTemplate.maxNrOfObjectSpawned 9999


no go.  just wanted to know, the folder that COOP uses for its settings and spawns.

ill keep going all day today, ( Australia)  see if i can  sniff this folder out.

getting there slowly..  but your help has been great..

fantastic.  figured out how to use the RFA thingy.  adjusted the bots to 20 , all good works.  adjusted the spawning time for tanks planes. but would you know ,where the file is for adjusting spawn, ie; someone takes a tank, i would like to have it respawn straight away ?    take one, one pops up again..  but that RFA program is sorted .lol..


i just need to know where the vehicles  can be adjusted for spawn on moving.  also, if your running COOP maps, where do you adjust those ?



lots better now without so many bots.  just want teh kit  ( planes tanks etc)  to spawn after been taken by a player..

spot on mate. had server going, on one pc, also played from installed game on same, then used a laptop, different ip totally from server, joined with that and boom, game restarted.

have to cut the number of bots down, and add stuff in, extra planes, tanks etc...  and also adjusting the time, they respawn. but same issue, i find the file, extract, adjust, its the getting it back in the game that is the drama..lol

im to used to modding the demo 42. this is new.  was starting with something simple, changing bot names to funny ones,  not to mention, i haven't done this for years...

its just the  process of doing this is different to me.   even adding that line,  " game.setMinNrOfPlayers 0 " would be the same, doesn't seem to save, and when i add say, german names back in, it has a little asterisk in front of it.

other name files, show data in them. the German one i change doesn't show any data.   wont save is what i guess.

i suppose once i find out how that works, ill be adding things by the heaps.. but again, my many thanks for your help.

i have both  both   MDT and col.cruachans  RFA explorer,  not sure which ones best. i get into the files, extract  only the game.rfa  to change names on bots, issue is then getting said file back into the  game.  German name to start, i can see the files and names of bots.. its just after that..  is the issue  smile

MATE YOU GUYS ARE GREAT.  i have the server running on its own, and 42 installed on same pc. thought it was something to do with me, on the same machine.  lol..

every time, i went in, the bots had half the place captured, and all the vehicles gone..  might start using a separate pc, and leave the server one alone.

tried running  2 servers on the same pc, one installed, one running from a box. game tracker kept on getting the two confused, names and scores.

and BFSM didnt like to run two of, on the same machine either..  yet it will let me use the ded.exe .

modding and changing stuff on the full game, is alot different than the old demo.

still trying to extract the rfa and .con files to no avail.  harder process than the old demo.

but once again, i do thank you guys for your help.   

ive been watching EA games, ON THE WAR PATH. sacking people and dropping server support.

shame that EA did not keep 42 going more, they would have made a heap of us..  smile smile



ive noticed the number of players is dropping off,  sad..

   hi again, mate, i have had a good look, and its still doing what you said, i join the server, and the bots are already into it. i run the maps mainly on coop.

i run the server from the same computer i play on.  each time, i join server, in coop, the bots look like they have been playing for awhile.  ive seen some servers, where you join and the whole map restarts..

must have something to do with a restart map thing ??  very strange..  any thoughts sir ???

well, re installed server.  this time i used the  BFSM  v2.01

and it works. full admin, messages in game, banned words... etc.

YUP. done and done.   im going to try later, a 1.61 server. see if  there's a difference.

this current  set up, only allows some things to work, banned words wont work, server admin mess in game wont either.

server runs great.  i sure its something ive done..lol

ill try new reinstall of server and game. see wht happens.  i did in my travels reading, there is a BFSM 2 patched.. not sure where but.

try fresh reinstall first.. go from there.

mate, thanks for reply. i had found that coding, and the file for it to go to.

last time i changed a name of bot, server shut down ,lol.. had to redo another server.

that code, i think has to go in each map we use.  last time i did coding and the such, was the demo days. bit rusty..

such a great game.  i will get around to adjusting server mods and maps..

but 40 bots in game is a bit much..  but again. i thank your for your help.

HI TO ALL.

just a quick question.  server running great, master list great.. all good.

but, each time i go into server the bots are already into it. 41 bots in game, it was noticed before, once joined game / server bots already have the vehicles  and  fighting.


is there a setting at all to  make sure, if joining, it starts on a fresh map ?  (bots start off fresh too)

ive looked at the BFSM, but nothing there. 

any help would be great thank you.

also, trying to have server number at 41 or higher, but 41 bots is alot, can you scale them down, say  64 players but only 20 bots in game ??

hi all, i was just wondering, the mods for the old demo, had to be hand done.  adjusting this and adding that. took awhile to do this one map, wake.

my question is, im more familiar with the demo and servers.  do they or have they made patches that do this for you, ( ADDS MODS) since there are alot of maps to choose

i have the programs for the rfa / .con  files.  thought there maybe a patch of sorts out there?

dear mr hillbilly.  i thank you for your reply and little test.. outstanding. thank you for taking the time to look,

its got me beat,lol.  everything set up correct.  i run a  TP LINK   Archer AX10   ROUTER,  ports forwarded and so on.

it does keep playing even when i go in and test it. just cannot seem to get it to show on the main list..  no doubt its probably a setting or something.  had the same thing, when the demo was going. running a server and getting the ports right.  i think we used a modem back then. i modded the wake island map real good. took alot of time, and had loads of fun. great people.

im pleased that you could get in.  just have to nut out why it wont show on main list..


such a great game, runs on anything. wish that gamespy kept the list going, they could have made lots of $$$$ renting out servers.

oh well.  im pleased its back up and running.  and once again, i thank you for taking the time to do a test. very kind of you smile smile
