We've all played these maps hundreds of times. If I wanted a good competitive match with quality gameplay I'd play in Liga or whatever. While it's the clanners that provide the backbone of this server, there are still a lot of causal players like myself who don't have the ping/ regs/ skill to be competitive on the server.
I play on Simple for some entertainment. These morons provide plenty. Did you read through that chat you posted?

no idea im not counting but im sure you've playing long enough to notice the difference of people getting kicked nowadays for chat compared to when nameless was around. the other day i got insta warned just by asking whos gonna win in 2024 like really? anyway if you are interested in keeping the population up kicking/banning people for lang is not the way to go, they will just migrate to another server (look at moongamers lately). i think with the current state of the game we should stick to mostly game related mechanics like cheats, tks, etc, and sacrifice a bit on personal biases so the playerbase remains healthy in the future. unless you are fine playing with 20-15 people rather than put up with some of these morons in chat which knowing where you come from you would prefer that.
Well said Kev. All the "characters" that made this server unique are being banned (Merlin, 000, B L I T Z) for offences that are mainly not play- related. Feels like singleplayer with much shittier reg now, might as well play moongamers with 20 ping. The Nameless era where you could get a bit spicy in the chat was much more fun.

Maybe I should have banned Lati as well, you might be right about that, but as I said he became unusual quiet afterwards, mediocre. However I will be true to my word and do what I have been writing in the above. If test is missbehaving in the chat, he can get some time off as well. And not that I need to respond to your comment about the "sorority girl clique" I will: Conquer is a very small "team" which always need ringers, and the few times we have played (4-5 times vs Invictus) we have been needing ringers, and test01 have been so kind to help us a few times, just like WoodR, Cranberrie, Michaels, Sommarel and Simon. And despite what you might think, that doesn't grant them any special treatment. I don't believe anyone got "admin protection" as long as Paul and Raketen manages the server.
Self: Actions have already been discussed and taken, so I guess actions are being taken "from within". Mediocre just happened to be the frontrunner for it.
Great, I'm glad to hear that I was just the first unsuspecting victim of your new, un-announced, self-made policy. Why don't you also decide that we should all hold hands and sing Kumbaya in the server chat on Sundays while you're at it. Make sure you don't tell anyone first, then ban the whole server for not complying.
Seriously - this is a fucking video game server. People are here to shoot each other in the face. Trash talk is part of the game. Everyone is welcome to play as they wish, but if you're going to play like a troll you should be prepared to deal with some trash talk in the chat. Take that away and it's the same as playing singleplayer against bots.
In this particular round on Stalingrad I actually wanted to give Lati a 1 day ban as well, but he became very quiet after Mediocre "left". I'm not defending anyone here, but I feel like whatever test01 was writing, it came as a reaction towards you and Latis provocations.

I've given the thread a read-over, and I've noticed that most of the replies contain references and comments directed at other players (lati, dr. strange, etc.).
I'll tell you why you banned me. You are using me as easy scape goat to vent frustrations directed at other players who have admin protection and are more a part of this community. You are abusing your admin rights to protect a useless troll (test) at my expense, because apparently he is part of your little sorority girl clique.
I come to Simple to play, not mess about with forums, clans, and other bullshit. I'll tell you what. I will refrain from provoking Test - or any other player for that matter - in the chat. But if he launches into his troll routine ("take ur pills", etc.), I will respond, and we can have this whole discussion again.
Frankly, I think the ability to have some minor trash talk/ banter with other players in chat is one of the most enjoyable parts of this game. If it's seen to cross a line, or some thin skinned admins are offended, all you need to do is put a warning in chat and provide me the opportunity to shut up.
If you're going to play like a troll - spawn camping, vehicle whoring, etc.- you should be prepared to receive some negative feedback in the chat.I have no desire to make whine threads on the forum; if a player is useless - as test is- they should be able to hear it in game without getting their knickers in a knot.
Indeed, test is perfectly capable of handling himself without having Daddy come in and give time outs. As per Seven's deleted comment, please post the logs and you'll notice that in this interaction he provided more insults to me than I sent to him.
As this has not been solved, and it seems to be mainly an issue with you Doubti/Mountis, I propose that you stop playing under an alias so that I can tone down/stop my commentary when you are in game. Wouldn't want to offend you.

If you have a problem with chat, I suggest you go play singleplayer instead of banning what sounds from your comment to be a good portion of the server.
With that said, a certain amount of chat/ banter/ trash talk has always been tolerated previously. Is this a new "simple policy" or just from you? There's loads of chat spam in this game, and if this is going to be a policy it should be applied evenly. Shouldn't you warn first? How many warnings before a ban? etc.

I was just banned by Seven on Britain. Here's my version of events:
1. I shot him down in his ju88 twice, shooting him once while in parachute mid-air
2. He RQ'd and reconnected.
4. I shot him down while taking off in his Ju88, after which he deathbailed
5. I made a comment regarding the dankness of his deathbail; he responded that it was legal. I said OK
6. I bombed a player in flak from high altitude. It was a pretty nice bomb. The player I bombed commented on this; I responded that it was indeed a nice bomb.
7. Seven kicked me for chat spam (questionable kick and with no warning)
8. I rejoined, and mentioned that I felt the kick was unjustified
9. Seven responded something about me being a former admin and warned me that I would be banned if I said anything else
10. I said something else; was warned by Hilly; then was banned immediately by Seven
Post chat logs please, they will verify my version. Seven, please post your video too, I know you're always recording,

I think some caution should be exercised with this new direction. Love them or hate them - or find them extremely annoying - players like 000 and Merlin give this game colour. If we ban all the 'characters' from the server, the game will be boring as hell.
My game has been crashing whenever there are more than 72 players on server. Anyone have an idea of what's going on and can suggest a possible fix? Seems to be just me. This happened the last time Simple went to 84 players as well.
The only other time the game crashes for me is when I alt+tab out back to desktop.
Rule is simple. If you make merlin whine, you will be banned.

Unfortunately, the removal of the 1 nade makes the tanks - particularly the axis tank - too powerful. The axis tank can always retreat from the ramps a little, and be out of zook range for the allies. The allied tank has nowhere to fall back to, and is easy pickings for the axis zookers in the bunker above.
It is great for the 1 guy who gets to score whore in the axis tank though.
Also, no nades make clearing out all the axis medics/ assaults milling around in the bunkers more difficult, another disadvantage to the allies.
Overall, if the nades are going to stay removed, the tanks + priest should go too. The defguns and APCs will be enough of a challenge to kill for the 3 guys who spawn anti-tank.
Could map vote be turned off by default on simple server? It's distracting as shit, and a vote passes maybe 1/100. The other 99/100, it just takes up room on your screen and breaks concentration. Thanks
If I remember right, you have to type in the !ignore.(player number) command at the start of each new map, which can get annoying. I've noticed alot of people getting banned/ kicked lately for chat spam on both simple and moon servers, so thought some sort of chatban which could be applied by an admin like a regular ban could be an alternate solution. Annoying people could still play on the server, but everyone else wouldn’t have to read their constant stream of inane drivel. Not sure if it is even possible, but thought that this would be the place to ask.
Just wondering if it would be possible to create some sort of chat ban only for 42, as you can find in other games. Would be a good solution instead of kicking/ banning players (cough- merlin- cough) from servers. Maybe let someone who is chatbanned use their radio commands only? Anyone with some modding/ experience running a server who can weigh in on this? Thx.
