gun stops firing

hello fellow simplers!

since two weeks now, i have been experiencing a very annoying bug

so in random situations the left mouse click stopps working for a brief moment f.e. you're shooting an enemy and the gun stops firing with bullets left in the magazine, or you heal a friend and the medikit stops healing although he's close and you ain't beeing shot at

first i thought ok, its mouse's fault, but its the same with other mice, so i asked some players if they have similar problems and they do. some of them think its a hack, because it only happens if certain players are close, so i continued my research by browsing through forums and didn't find anything for bf 1942 in particular, but this issue seems to be known in bf 3 and bf 4

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/fo … 435655839/

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/fo … 490692660/

http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-4/ … -p/1950829

so what i wanna know from you all, have you experieced similar issues? does anyone have an idea where this might come from?

Re: gun stops firing

I only know this from the Tommy-Gun (Allies Medic Class) - u reload it but if u try to keep on shootin it just says: hey u moron, although uve reloaded u r still out of ammo xD always makes me furious, never had probs like u discribed tho, that never caugth my eyes wi other weapons tho, too.. As u know Konfuzius i like to call u Confusius - so either u r still a bit confused or uve found another suckin weapon-bug, indeed - or im confused again n got the whole post totally wrong hehe

Re: gun stops firing

Maybe its a reload bug? Have you tried shooting somebody when it happens? Next time try to hold the LMB and try to point ur crosshair at somebody. If he gets hits then it's an ordinary reload bug. Bullets should be comming out of your gun, but you will see crosshair marks when you will hit the enemy.

P.S. You do have a USB modern mouse, do you ? big_smile

Re: gun stops firing

I understand what you are saying Konfuzius, got the same issue. When I repair a tank or heal someone it's stop and It's more frustrating when it happens when I am shooting at somebody.

Change my mouse and I have same results.

Re: gun stops firing

thanks for your serious comments smile

@moon: i will check the wheel thing now

@sere: yeah, i do, how did you know? big_smile what i got is really weird, when im pointing right at the enemy the gun stops, when im pointing away it starts again so i repeat pressing instead of holding and get single shots out, when im lucky i get a bughit but only when he jumps into an already flying bullet himself.

@dakota: yes that is exactly what i am talking about when you repeat pressing it slightly breaks through but rarely enough to make a difference

Not normally, but if you have a lot of devises plugged on usb it could be worth to try and unplug them while you play, or even change usb port for the mouse.

Re: gun stops firing

It's a different problem. In the link it's a typical optical mouse issue.

Re: gun stops firing

In bf3/4 that is firing mode what you are talking about, you can change that by pressing on V. 1 and 2 shots mode are for long distances and and automatically firing mode is for short distances. Some players in bf3/4 are stupid and do not understand what the firing mode is intended for. xD

but if this happens in bf1942 then i think it is your mouse.

Re: gun stops firing

no issues here.....reload game? get a real mousepad for laser mouse...not the one with a picture of your dog or donkey on it?...

usb 2.0 mouses may not work....that is...are not upwards compatible to usb 3.0 ports...do you have old usb mouse and new laptop/pc with 3.0?
had a sound issue with my headphones  with usb....for that reason..have to plug my headphones into the correct 2.0 port on my laptop...doesn't work on the 3.0 usb port......old headphones..
