PunkBuster?

Answer seriously to know if yes or no, we have to set PunkBuster on the servers ?

"PunkBuster is a computer program that is designed to detect software used for cheating in online games. It does this by scanning the memory contents of the local machine. A computer identified as using cheats may be banned from connecting to protected servers. The aim of the program is to isolate cheaters and prevent them from disrupting legitimate games."

No sense, because with Origin it's working automatically without PB.

I voted yes,but the real punkbuster for bf1942 is out-of-date... so whats the point?

Yes indeed, but to have results more significant it would be interesting to make known this poll to the unregistered players on the forum.
Because I shall bet that those who answered "yes" are clan members so they are used to play on PB server.

Nice initiative but youd also have to explain what it does + the pros and cons of implementing it on the server. The screenshot feature of a players in-game screen and anti-hack work untill 2010 are the main pros.

It's weird that no one besides so many programmers on this forum is not thought of that upgrade PunkBuster.

New multi hacks have been released since the Origin version came out and I doubt that these will be detected even if you did run the very last version of PB for BF1942.

I would be happy to play on PB server without hesitation, well after I have turn off all of my hacks

Hello,

I'm admin on some servers of Battlefield 1942 and I am really invested to save this game about the hackers.

However, nobody know why you didn't support anymore Punkbuster for Battlefield 1942 since february 3, 2010.
The population didn't decrease.

So i have 2 questions :

1 - Why not to support anymore punkbuster for Battlefield 1942 ?
2 - Is there a way to get back punkbuster for this game ?

Hello,

The decision for support is made by the developer/publisher. PunkBuster is still active in the game, however, it is no longer updated. You will need to contact EA/DICE regarding support for PunkBuster.

I contacted this morning EA/DICE and replied me "We can't do anything for you, sorry. But you can contact www.punkbuster.com/
So i contacted them and wait their reply.

Frankly, I do not expect a positive answer from them but at least I shall have tried.
Maybe a petition by specifying the possible donation would have had more impact than a simple request of an admin as me or maybe not ...

The answer is obvious, clear transfer of responsibility from one to another ... One of my friend is guru programmer so I ask him how it is feasible to implement a new type of anti cheat system for BF1942, only to still remain.
