tuia, you told me about some bug in the PM system. I wanna know if the bug is like this:

One person sends another one a private message, thus a new thread is created in each inbox. Both users send each other a few messages within that thread. After a while one of them decides to delete that thread from his inbox. The other one now sends a new message within that thread but the second person can't receive it because he removed the thread from his inbox earlier.

Is this correct?

Yes, that's the Private Messages System bug. You should create a new message thread to make sure he/she receives.

i just replied to a message and noticed (deleted) in that column so i'm not sure if it went through

didnt went through. My PM too you was to remove that signature in 5m. Ive removed it for you. You have put it back in again. Fail to comply and you will be banned, forum and server.

Hello Lecter,

here are a few things I'd like to mention as a reaction to you, your posts and last but not least, your personality.

Yes, I can be considered a newcomer to this game. Although I've first played it in 2002 and did so over the following years until now, with smaller and bigger breaks, I'm relatively random noone, never used to talk in game, played on many servers I don't even remember their names, never tried to make some friends in game, it was a just an evening fun for me (and this didn't change, I play for fun, not stats, fame, whatever).

On the other hand (and I hate to write this part because bragging is something I despise and it might be considered as doing so), I think I've brought some positive things to BF1942 community, I'll mention a few things that I think are worth mentioning, in chronological order

1. When Origin came out, there were no official linux servers available for it. They're still not and probably never be. I figured out how to modify existing 1.61 server to act like Origin server. Many servers today use this. You don't have to care, some people might. (and what's ironic, as a sign of gratitude my server was DDoS'd by some idiot who was trying to get some people to his server which was running my modified server binary. But that's fine, the world isn't perfect)

2. As a next step, it was again me who figured out how to patch the server more to enable all players with 1.6+ version to play at the same server. Again, used quite a lot and I think I won't be very far from truth if I say that currently the most players play on a server running these modifications of mine.

3. I've figured out how to prevent most random server crashes that are in server code since 2002. I bet you remember SiMPLE used to crash sometimes even few times a day and how annoying it was. Well, it's mostly gone (anyone can correct me if I'm wrong). I did it for me, I did it for tuia, I did it for all SiMPLE players, you included. You don't have to thank me, noone needs to. But it's a fact.

4. I run a server of mine for an almost a year now. A server which (if stats aren't way off), 142637 unique players (or let's say keyhashes, we all know how this stuff works) visited. A server that actually some people like. It isn't exactly the most pro server ever. Probably more close to the contrary. But still, it's usually full of players and there are always some wonderful players I have fun to play with. I'm trying to make it a nice place for people to play, I often fail but never stop trying. That's why I never liked when you played there, I was many times one click from kicking you for your annoying behaviour but always stopped myself. And I admit that was wrong. And that's the reason why you didn't get the admin rights too. I'm sorry that I even didn't reply to your mail where you asked for them, I was thinking for some time how to phrase it so you don't get offended and then just let it be. But yes, that was not nice.

So to sum it up, these are my achievements and stuff I brought to BF1942 community. It might be not much but I did my best.

And now the nasty part, I again apologize but I need to put it this way.

Lecter, now it's your turn. Please impress me, I love to be impressed. Tell me what you did for BF1942 community and why I should respect you. You can skip that part where you were admin on some greatest server in the universe for 20 years and you probably kicked and banned thousands if not more people. I've heard that already zillion times. Give me something new, something else than "I headshot everyone while producing neanderthal sounds in game chat".

I admire some people in this community, for all they've done for it. Be it tuia with all the hard work he put into many aspects of BF1942, his server where I used to love to play, be it bud with his extensive modding skills, be it countless people who created wonderful maps, mods, run (not just kick and ban) nice servers, liga admins who try to keep this dying game competitive and most of all, the players that still come to this game to have fun.

So if i'm a noone, who are you and what did you do except annoying me for 1 year I've spent on this server?

Totally agree, and ssk, i have to say wow and thanks for all you did which i didnt know 90% of this. You never caused problems here and never deserved a ban. But this community has became something totally different in last months, players who dont contribute, but they even create bad atmosphere, and one of them is for sure Lecter(atleast thats how i feel when i see Lecter playing on server and fulling the chat of nice comments). But its up to server owner to make or not take some decisions and face or not face the problems.

Edit: ssk also did some things to his server, you can check it if u played stalingrad or berlin.

I am pretty objective in this topic: Just a question why do you, ssk fix the problem with a pm? It is a personal problem you have with lecter, it is not a problem which everyone has and the community, I guess, is not interested in this stuff. So do the whole community a favour and solve the problem between you both and not on an official forum.

to Denny: You have no clue of this problem so please shut it and leave your personal issues you have with Lecter, whole Gun admins, with me and some other players out of the forum.

It is just my opinion, if you want to beat me for it just write a PM.

i have no reason to beat you or anyone for an opinion ;-)
it started publically, it continued semi-publically (in admin section) where i don't have access anymore after he banned me from the forum for having a link in signature to excerpts from public chatlogs so i felt this was the most appropriate place to post it because it was him who brought it into this very topic as you can see above.

i apologize to all who wasted their time by reading it but i think that wasn't the only useless post on this forum

Despite our late differences and disputes I want to publicly apologize for the last episode where I went too far and was a bit, not to say very, repressive with you. I tried on forum and in game to be as fair as possible and at that time I took it too far and took it way too personal. Ive read your post about what you have done for this community and I do appreciate and acknowledge that. I´ve done alot too even if on other terms, which I won´t report now, but all of us have contributed as much as they can according to their possibilities.

I offer my sincere apologies and hopefully we can move and set apart what has drawn us apart. I still don´t forget your great help helping solve that big lag issue I used to had. Your help was immense.
