Video editors

Does someone has a good alternative to movie maker?
I had always troubles in the past and today, i decided to put the video together but noooo, it kinda crashes after 10minutes and thats really annoying

Avidemux and VirtualDub -> only works with .avi files.

I know there is a demo version but only for vista ++
but when i got this pc i didnt want to have vista and decided to get xp
I'm gonna try the others, xfire records with .avi if i'm not mistaken

The first program of tuia didnt really work and the 2nd one doesn't mean anything to me i'm confused

I stand and fight! I actually know why movie maker always crashed, i fought through, put these videos togehter but i think it will have a hell of quality :S

edit: any chance to have a "good" quality in the way i save these file?

there is something with "ideal quality for your pc" and "video,high quality" and thousand others....

i'm a total nub

Kobra, I'm not exactly sure what you want to do with the editor. Do you just want to do simple effects and trimming the file? Or are you looking for a ore complete editor?

I was also frustrated by the usual free editors, such as Avidemux, VirtualDub, and WAX.

Personally, I use CyberLink PowerDirector. It's my favorite. It was "free"
I also sometimes use Any Video Converter Professional. It converts almost everything and has basic editing tools. It's pretty fast and usually does what I need it to do at first.

If you have patience, Lightworks may be a good option for you if it's still around. When I used it, it was pretty good .

Also check out AVS Video Editor. I find it to be pretty easy to use and has some good features. You can get it at http://www.avs4you.com

Another option would be to check out AVITricks Video Editor. It also does some minor editing. You can join/cut/trim/edit multiple clips, etc.

For very basic editing: AVIedit or VideoEgg

Well, the video is done, i also uploaded it to youtube already but obviously GEMA fucking banned it already because i used some song...
For all non germans it shouldnt be a problem i guess but i'm too lazy to remove it now

By the way, Windows Movie Maker for Windows 8 is not that bad.
