I made an attempt to install Drauger on a old PC.
I burned the Stick with BalenaEtcher instead of Rufus.
Drauger is running, but it's for me really complicated.
Due the trial to install Battlefield 1942 there was no option to install a "non listed program" in Play on Linux.
I gave it up first, but then after searching and reading, i found out, that due the default dark color in Desktop and Menus the Button is not visible.
But it's there, i found it, when i saw the hand (Cursor). (Perhaps it's something with this Radeon HD6700. I do not know).
Now it's installing Wine on the needed virtual Drive, but the fuck... can't be that it takes so long. OS is on an SSD and it's not the Bf1942 installation. Just the prerequisites. I'm not sure if i fucked something up.
...
I used this Guide: (But i used an new Wine)
http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/thre … uide.1915/
...
Does anyone know how i can change this fkin everything/everywhere Dark color. It's a bit tiring to search/find those non visible Buttons.
Or some advices?

I need a CD 3

Love the step by step Arkos
Keep it coming!
...
Ya, ... you know, ...
...
Btw.
The freeze in Play on Linux and the story with deactivated Internet is not needed!
> Play on Linux
> Installation
> Then disable "Testing" and "Commercial" and activate "No CD needed"
I do not know if it was just a coincidence or it's really so, but that worked last time.

I tell you, ... it's a bit tiring
...
Hi Arkos, how are you? Glad to hear you're having fun with Drauger.
...
Ya, as usual i try hard to turn the Battle
...
...
Ya, ... that Play on Linux is a bit bugged.
You find so many topics in Internet: > "Play on Linux hangs"
...
But, ... butt...
I guess if someone takes time, read some stuff, to do those steps manually i guess it's makeable.

(Perhaps worth a try using Pop! OS?)
...
Anyway I found some good descriptions.

So how does it go, have you got it running now and playing like a god? im curious to try it, but im not sure anything can help my lousy gameplay anyway
I’m not well versed in Linux having never used it before, but beyond a smoother gaming experience for BF1942 what are some of the advantages of this OS over say, Win 10?
for a start you wont be supporting mr. gates monopoly. second it is open source. meaning there is probably not a back door to your home folder. ehm yes there is a back door to your pc anyway. if you have a old and weak pc, choosing the linux with less background programs running makes if faster and less.. idk laggy hangy
The learning curve is pretty big though, with Windows it just works, I don’t need to consult 500 tutorials on how to install a simple program.
the biggest problem with linux as i see is if you get something wrong like some packets or other shaiche. is removing it completely before trying to install the correct one.

So everything is done from the command line? Fuck that. I'll stick with Win 10 and my spyware
Am i the only one that is annoyed by the way you type?
no. you do most like windows but you have the option to do it in terminal
Cool, thanks for the info.

Lutris, instead of Play on Linux. (Integrated Vulkan API).
But for DX9 Games (played with Vulkan), you need to replace all "DirectX 9-dlls" in the Gamefolder with "D9VK-dlls"

Do PB screens work properly on Linux?
...
I can tell you, when i made it running.
I have now a bit time to test if i can make it via Lutris, but with Vulkan.

Btw. Wine Version NoFshack means no Fullscreen Support
Fshack means FullScreenSupport, i guess. (FullScreenHack)
...
I do not know, if that's only meant for Games, which does not run at the Monitors Nativ resolution.
Anyway. It's possible to change WineVersion after the game is installed.

Ok, Some progress.
Everything worked fine, but the Installer from the all in one BF1942 package, ... the Installer Starting screen is only 1/10 sec visible, then it disappears.
So i thought, it's still active, (usually you have to click "next") and so i pressed "Enter".
The Installer short showed up and was again not anymore visible.
Damn, ... i'm not smart enough for dis
...
...
I have to go out now.
I go on later.
...
Maybe Butcher could post a tutorial how he did it

Ok, ... found out why the Setup Window disappears.
The Installation Log shows missing True Type Fonts. (Called FreeType in Linux)
I searched a bit and found this
