BF1942 wont work

played this morning all ok now I cant get bf to work just black  screen (not responding in task manager)tried system restore no luck,tried reinstall from disc no luck can anyone help with my dilemma please

I had a similar problem some weeks ago. Everytime I launched BF1942 it would not start. Even reinstalling the game did not fix the problem. I don't know what I changed then but I had not that problem any more. Have you tried running BF1942 in windowed mode? Edit this line in your VideoDefault.con in EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings folder to:

renderer.setFullScreen 0

It may produce an error dialog message when running the game in windowed mode.

i had this problem yesterday,

i think it was because i played origin on that other exe you posted, and maybe thats what caused problems,
i just downloaded again 1.61 exe and it was fine again

thanks for advice tuia but already uninstalled and reinstalled and working fine even with all my profiles still there???(strange) now I have no admin thought I had used same key but looks as if I have not.may you reinstate admin rights pls

hey I just instaled my original bf1942 from cds than I continued with SiMPLE patches 1.6 & 16.1b at the end I finished with Punkbuster & new maps.
After running bf1942 showed this window
I got dll fixer so I run it fix all dlls & downloaded missing one ... but this window keep poping up when I try to run bf42
Anyone has some idea where is the problem ?

try to replace msvcr70.dll in "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\"  with http://ax.bf1942.sk/msvcr70.dll (that's the one i got in my bf dir)

well it start loading but than it crash back to desktop

you probably need renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 in videodefault.con

okej I reinstal bf1942 again & do step by step as mentioned & at the finish i overwrite viddef.con & save it just for read only ..

will see if it work anyway thnx for help
