Ax crashes to desktop

Factory reset my HP Windows 7.  Fresh install of 42 cd version.  Downloaded 1.6.19 and 1.6.19b form here http://planet-fun.co.uk/index_sub3.html.  Installed gamespy patch retail from simple.  Can play other servers.  Ax doesn't  show up so I added the ip.  Join their games...map almost loads then crashes.  Av and firewall stopped.  I'm guessing an updated punkbuster?   What am I missing?

Do you have any custom map files or mods like Merciless?

Which gamespy update did you use? 1.61 or the 1.612?

Another thing go to your BF1942 folder and find the "blackscreen.exe" right click and select run as admin

I dl'd the simple punkbuster and it seems to be working.  Thx for the replies!
