I'm about to throw my PC out the fucking window.
Crashing all the time when joining a server, when I finally am able to join a multiplayer game and try to Escape I get a CTD. Not able to join a server after at least 3 tries.
I'm running the Battlefield 1942 Anthology HD version which tuia Uled to Piratebay.
I have Windows 8.1 64 Bits, running the game in a 32-Bits version. I don't know how to make the game run in 64-Bits, how can I do this? I think it might be causing all the crashes.
Please help.
Have you set to run BF1942 in compatibility mode? Download BF1942 GameSpy patch and run it, this sets automatically for you and updates BF1942 executable.
Yes it is in compatibility mode and still crashes (Windows XP SP3, Admin)

You may have to apply that Battlefield 1942 FaultTolerantHeap shim to solve your BF1942 crash problems in Windows 8.1 64 bits.
By the way, you can't run BF1942 in true 64 bits, because it's a 32 bits coded game. However, it's possible running 32 bits programs in OS 64 bits, through emulation: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content … ations.htm
Apparently the problem lies with Xfire. Everytime I turn it on before joining a game, I get a CTD however when it's closed, there is no problem at all and my game runs normally.
Thank you for the info nonetheless.
