Flying Planes with a Mouse

Some of you fly planes using keyboard and mouse. How do you do all those maneuvers needed in a dogfight with the mouse? When I use the mouse it takes ages to make turns, etc.

Do you catch enough speed?

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

70, you won't believe it but i fly with my mouse also wink
just buy a good laser mouse that u can lift off you're mousepad without moving.. Otherwise it's to hard to fly, and then just move and train.. it will take long before u controll it

Anyway goodluck!

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

Just set in-game airplane mouse sensitivity to maximum. Need some training, but it viable to fly this way.

Only keyboard and mouse. It all depends on the skill.

maximum may be too sensitive, better set it on half or 3/4
seventy, use both mouse and key as i do, for first duplicate keys for up/down on keyboard, it will help a lot in df

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

It is better if you can play with the keyboard only. With keyboard you fly with absolute values like with joystick. Mouse is relative and it hops sometimes causing a miss. I use my mouse because i can't get my self use to keyboard only big_smile
And my sensitive is 100% I like it that way.

You can fly with everything if you practice... G3cko and DrStrange also with mouse and keyboard. G3cko told me his mouse settings are on 90.

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

i m flying with m+k also....... my mouse settings are at 1/3 speed, but i have logitech mx518 mouse with 3 speed settings, so i guess as they said, you can max it to about 75%, which is too swift for me most of the times, and i am not as precise at max speed. hope it helped, however, i set my keyboard also to a higher value, and you have to mix mouse and keyboard to turn it rapidly, ,,,,,, bleh

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

u can turn as fast as a joystick or keyboard with mouse, just the way how u fly.. and when ur stalling the mouse is the best for aiming wink

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

my opinion you only need that joystick with games with a helicopter,
planes can be well controlled with mouse and keyboard or controller tongue

Re: Flying Planes with a Mouse

Thank you guys for your nice tips, I will try to play around with the mouse settings and practice a little on bud's midway server (since there are many noobie pilots around there hehe)

Using only keyboard may be possible (and nämeless is the best example) but I will stick to the mouse for now.

if the plane is going too fast or too slow,
you can change the mouse sensitivity settings in BF1942 Menu tongue
