"Fury" - the tank movie

Fury is showing on Netflix now... if you have never seen it, a gritty movie about life as a Sherman tank crew... good movie!!

The usual Hollywood cliched fiction, where Sherman is able to resist the division of tigers and come out victorious, is a pure fairy tale lol. Just so you know, 1 tiger could easily destroy from 5 to 8 Shermans, and no American tank could destroy, or even penetrate a tiger in the forehead. The USSR had two cars, Beastbeat (isu-152) and IS-2, only they could destroy a tiger head-on.

IIRC  in the movie there was 4 shermans against 1 tiger  and tiger killed 3 of them... so it was quantity over quality even in the movie.
And in reality the firefly with 17 pounder was much more of a threat for panthers and tigers compared to standard shermans.

That's exactly what I said. Yes, this is a converted British Sherman, and it fired sub-caliber , roughly speaking, blank shells , Britain didn’t add explosives to the shells (a kind of humanism). Sometimes this projectile simply passed through the tiger without hitting modules,  but it could damage (not kill) the crew due to fragments of armor after being hit and it was almost at the end of the war (less than a year) by this time Germany was already equipped with KT, which turned out to be unreliable and defective due to the fact that almost all German factories were destroyed, the armor simply burst at the seams after a prolonged battle. Few guns could penetrate his armor, but disabling the crew = the tank was destroyed, and the large-caliber guns armed HES (the same beastbeat) coped with this task perfectly. Hitting the corpus even without penetration was guaranteed to disable the crew, if not completely, then at least the tank could not return fire
