Battlefield 1942 HD Revival Community Project

BATTLEFIELD 1942 HIGH DEFINITION REVIVAL PROJECT:

GOALS:
-Create a .exe install file for Battlefield 1942 with the most recent HD graphics mod (v1.0) installed with the game, so there is no need to install it manually. This file should contain an active master server that is pre installed, so no need to manually install. This file should contain the expansion packs (Imagine Tuia's WWII anthology download with pre installed HD graphics mod).

-Contact content creators to sponsor YouTube videos and get the word out about a prepared high definition download ready for online play! Yes, this will cost money. Don't worry -- It will be from my pocket, assuming someone can help with .exe file

-Mass contact EA Games about re-publishing this updated version of 1942 to origin for free. The game held a steady amount of players while it was on origin for free. It slowly declined since being taken offline.

Obvious problems could come from EA, however if all download links are simply "found" and third party websites hosting them, then the issue will likely be minimum.

You're about 10 years late to the party.

First goal: No, it would create confusion between client versions and split the player base. Also, even if BF1942 is by definition abandonware, it remains EA's intellectual property. So not a good idea to advertise free download links to the game, unless you want a repeat of what happened with the BF2 Revive Project (google it).

Second goal: This has been going on for years already.

Third goal: Waste of time, although I agree with your point. EA couldn't care less for BF1942.
